Role description:

The EMEA Structured Finance Origination business is part of Global Mortgages and Securitized Products, which sits within the Global Markets organisation. The business focuses on (i) originating and structuring agency securitisations backed by a range of granular asset classes, incl. residential mortgages, consumer and commercial assets, and (ii) providing senior secured financing backed by these asset classes.
 

This is a market leading platform across ABS and RMBS, which is reflected in league table rankings and industry awards (incl. multiple IFR EMEA Structured Finance House of the Year awards). The team is focused on all granular asset classes across all relevant European jurisdictions. We provide full service securitised products franchise covering all relevant aspects: the private side origination desk is complemented by EMEA mortgages analytics, sales (public) and trading (public) platforms.

To support the continuous growth of the platform, we are looking to add an Analyst / Associate based in Frankfurt and focusing predominantly on transaction within the European Union.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and propose deal structures, draft term sheets and participate in negotiating documents

  • Produce memoranda, other marketing materials, pitches and presentations

  • Preparing and maintaining management reporting

  • Assisting with both the origination and execution of financing deals

  • Financial statement analysis, financial covenant analysis and financial modelling

  • Interact with potential investors to assist them in their due diligence process

  • Prepare comparable analyses, fee memos, various internal reports and maintain deal files

  • Support senior structuring colleagues in interaction with issuer and investor clients

  • Researching and analysing current market trends to help identify opportunities and target clients

What we are looking for:

  • Comprehensive understanding of finance, capital markets, credit

  • Able to review / interpret relevant laws, rules, regulations and legal documents

  • Show initiative, commitment and adopt a proactive approach

  • Good working knowledge of Excel / PowerPoint

  • Excellent at managing timeframes with strong organisational skills

  • Ability to multi-task, communicate clearly, collaborate across products.

  • Individual should also be willing to learn and demonstrate initiative to run with projects

  • Strong mathematical and quantitative skills

  • Market risk knowledge

  • Understanding of financing activities within a global investment banking organisation

  • Demonstrate ability to identify issues, evaluate large sets of data and generate ideas of the back off this analysis

  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals

  • Fluent in English

Skills that will help (optional):

  • Current direct experience in structuring all aspects of secured lending transactions and ABS/RMBS transactions

  • Fluency in an additional European (such as German Italian French and/or Spanish)
