Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

LOB Specific Summary

Senior Python Software Engineer within the Equity Linked Technology (ELT) team assists in the front to back design, development, testing, and production support of Structured Products Platform.  The role will require working closely with the business users, BA/PM/QA, other development and support teams to play a critical role in the AGILE delivery of enhancements for our business which enable responsible growth. The candidate must be a professional software engineer with a proven track record of delivering high quality technical solutions for complex business requirements. This candidate should have an analytical mind allowing him/her to identify alternate solutions, which may otherwise be overlooked. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required in our extensive cross-team collaboration and business interaction. ELT is part of  Global Markets Technology, with global presence in AMRS, EMEA, and APAC. We are a diverse team of experienced developers, business analysts, and QA authorities working closely with the line of business. Our team develops a next-generation platform in support of equity structured note business.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained

  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack

  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle

  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

  • Automates manual release activities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in python, fundamental software development concepts and algorithms

  • Strong communication skills in verbal and writing

  • Practical experiences with Agile development

$100,700 - $180,000 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
