Job Description:
The Philanthropic Strategist (PS) will drive sales growth in the institutional and private philanthropy. The PS is a subject matter expert and a resource to drive relationship deepening and retention by bringing their specific area of expertise and specialization to the relationship. The PS delivers in-depth guidance, strategic advice and tailored solutions in their area of expertise. The PS contributes to the development of value propositions, best practices and thought leadership for their respective areas of specialization, as well being an educator to colleagues across the markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Help drive and support sales and business development activities in growing the foundation and endowment investment management business
  • Deliver pre- and post-sale customized consulting and advisory services to philanthropic prospects and relationships for both the Private Bank and Merrill channels
  • Assist with the development of philanthropic consulting/advisory tools and deliverables including building tailored resources for specific donor demographics, charitable sub-sectors, and emerging trends
  • Serve as key practitioner and content creator for philanthropy, including best practice development and delivery
  • Source and deliver presentations at national, regional and market level conferences, seminars and other venues
  • Assist with vetting opportunities, the ongoing discovery process and review/preparation of presentations to clients and prospects as a recognized subject matter expert and resource

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience and credibility as a consulting and sales practitioner
  • Deep understanding of philanthropic sectors and trends
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills with ability to conceptualize and position ideas and solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Bank of America enterprise capabilities
  • External visibility through active involvement in role-related networking and affiliate opportunities
  • Effective listening to demonstrate understanding, and ability to communicate with presence, clarity and conviction to influence thinking
  • Excellent ability to work in team environment, both within the Private Bank and Merrill and across the Bank of America franchise
  • Strong leadership skills

Washington DC pay range:

$123,700 - $232,900 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
