Job Description:
Responsible for management of all tasks and stake holders outside the team. Shapes relationships and priorities for the team. Frequent client engagement with a broad range of stakeholders and senior leaders. Manages a team of associates directly with accountability for their performance. Manages complex horizontal initiatives with management and accountability of work and progress to various levels of management. Has intermediate knowledge to build an E2E reporting system. Has strong knowledge of the business and can understand needs and anticipate in order to shape what is needed. Deliberately acts as a mentor to people across the team and occasionally other areas for technical, process or relationship insight, is the go to definitive source. Good understanding of data gathering tools and business intelligence reporting tools. 5+ years of experience.

Role Description:

  • Manages/oversees the reporting & analytics reporting team, across a targeted group of Analytical resources consisting of Client Reporting Analysts I, II and III’s; serving one or more senior executives with functional responsibility across GCAOO, specifically in Global Credit Operations.
  • Identifies opportunities for collaboration across the Analytics organization to effectively deliver against priorities. Supervises, directs, and communicates complex analyses using a variety of tools, techniques, and resources to deliver insights that drive business direction and decision making.
  • Partners with senior executives to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to a variety of business problems using data driven insights. Develops employees within the analytical discipline to be able to communicate and improve their business insight capabilities.
  • Monitor and report metrics related to core processes to Senior Management Forums.  Contribute to Audit/Regulatory reviews and responses.
  • Experience in supervising/leading technical or complex projects and managing to an outcome (directly or indirectly). Proven track record in financial services, operations, credit products, or business analytics.
  • Knowledge of current data techniques, and tools. Demonstrated understanding of statistical data uses in business decisions. This role requires an understanding of systems, data and its lineage as well as data health and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • This job is responsible for leading a team that develops reports to support management decision making. Key responsibilities include performing all phases of the report development process including participating in client meetings to understand needs and develop requirements, performing data research and data discovery, data sourcing including data automation, creating report visualizations, and managing report deployment including user on-boarding. Job expectations include developing, maintaining, or enhancing components of large reporting platforms to deliver comprehensive end-to-end reporting solutions.
  • Establish working relationships with data owners across multiple lines of business to validate understanding of reporting requirements and ensure complete and timely data submissions
  • This is a business-critical role that supports Global Credit Operations.  Responsible for developing control reporting utilizing multiple database platforms.  Must have the ability to understand and manage data relationships across different systems.  This role requires the ability to develop and own end to end processes, maintain existing code, analyze report requirements, and develop based on reporting needs using Tableau, SAS, SSRS, ETL Process and/or other technology recommended BI Tools.  
  • This position requires the ability to communicate effectively and work across multiple teams to support various initiatives.  Intellectual curiosity, Self-motivated, responsible, and due diligence are key drivers to be successful in this role. 
  • Designs, develops, and maintains innovative automated reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Business Intelligence tools including MicroStrategy and Tableau
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes from various database platforms, storing data in ‘Fit for Use’ relational tables
  • Analyzes disparate database sources including relational structures, dimensional data models, and cubes
  • Designs and builds relational data models to support the development of actionable reports, dashboards, and scorecards
  • Creates and maintains required standard documentation including metadata, detailed program workflows, and desktop procedures
  • Works collaboratively in a cross-functional team, learns from colleagues, and provides routine updates on calls related to projects

Required Skills:

  • Leader with proven track record of managing and developing teams
  • 3-5 years of experience as Data Analyst, or similar role in financial services industry
  • Experience with systems functional analysis, technology business analysis, and basic understanding of the different technical platforms, databases, and related technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (functions and formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Understand concepts of the Enterprise Databases (The W), MS SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata, and the Strategic Data Platform (SDP)
  • Ability to translate high level business requirements into technical data requirements
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentations)
  • Strong attention to detail and due diligence
  • Demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing data mining/analytics tools such as Alteryx, Toad, Teradata SQL Assistant, Microsoft SQL Server, and SAS
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/Outlook/Access), Tableau
  • Establish working relationships with data owners across multiple lines of business to validate understanding of reporting requirements and ensure complete and timely data submissions
  • Employees in this role typically have prior metrics development, data analytics, risk management and/or operations management experience.
