Job Description:
 

The Net Zero Strategy manager will play a critical role in executing the bank’s enterprise climate strategy.

  • Reports to Global Environmental Executive, accountable to Net Zero Strategy pillar lead
  • Member of bank’s Global Environmental Group (GEG) team at complex, global financial institution
  • Responsible for working closely with other GEG and Public Policy colleagues, along with the bank’s lines of business (LOBs), Sustainable Banking Solutions Group (SBSG), Global Sustainable Finance Group (GSFG), Risk, Finance and other groups, to help deliver on the bank’s Net Zero commitment
  • Will support ongoing development and execution of the bank’s comprehensive Net Zero strategy and specifically contribute to efforts to ensure the bank meets its commitment by partnering with the LOBs and SBSG to engage clients in reducing their carbon footprints
  • The role will support the interim emission reduction target strategy and ongoing management for various sectors: evaluate client climate plans, outline methodologies for sector metrics and emissions accounting, understand and advise on transition pathways for sector, and assist in target management
  • Participate, as needed, in broader ESG-related client meetings 
  • Engage with external partners, including peer banks, NGOs and shareholders, to develop guidelines and best practices and monitor industry trends

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in working for a financial institution, understanding bank products and decision-making processes a plus
  • Critical thinking skills, capacity to process complex issues, and ability to analyze, interpret and summarize vast amounts of information quickly
  • Strong writing and research skills, combined with ability to filter, summarize and communicate complex issues to executives and other internal and external audiences
  • Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to create and maintain work processes and keep work on track across multiple, matrixed teams
  • Develop and manage strong, productive relationships across various business groups within the company
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies an absolute must 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of climate change scenarios and/ or high emitting sector expertise, GHG emissions accounting and sector-specific transition pathways
  • Experience in climate change, GHG accounting, ESG or sustainability strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of banking and banking products, industry/sector specific expertise desired

New York pay range:

$102,000 - $173,500 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.

Washington DC pay range:
