Role Description:

We are looking for a Software Engineer III to become a part of the Cross-Asset API and AMPS Bus Application Development Team within Global Markets Operations Technology.

This is a high-profile role associated with two key application integration platforms: a mission-critical high-performance messaging infrastructure that underpins real time regulatory reporting and securities Straight Through Processing for allocation/booking/clearing/settlement, and our strategic data serialization framework/models for real-time trade processing flows.

The Team:

Additional team member for established XA/AMPS development team which operates on a global basis with development in NYC, Dublin and London. The successful candidate will be functionally supervised by the Dublin-based global team leader/lead developer, and as such offers a great opportunity to learn requisite and new skills on the job. The XA/AMPS team is part of the overall Core Engineering group within Global Markets Operations Technology, which offers exposure to other high-profile/strategic development activities as well as excellent networking opportunities.

Core Skills:

  • Demonstrated capability of server-side software development with both Python and Java.
  • Expertise with Java class libraries and open source packages
  • Multi-threaded application design
  • Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed processing systems
  • Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems’ architecture and implementation
  • Application performance optimization and associated tooling
  • Experience of inter-process messaging technologies, including serialization, routing, bus architectures and reliable message delivery
  • Knowledge of internal workings of the Java platform, including memory management, compiler optimizations, and JVM behaviour
  • C++, 60 East AMPS, Apache Avro, Data Modelling
  • Explicitly, prior experience within Financial Services is not required
