Software Engineer II- Charlotte, NC/ Richmond, VA

Job Description:

Responsible for developing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces. Familiar with development and testing practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); Analyzes test reports, identifies any test issues/errors; Triages the underlying cause. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Participates, contributes and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events. e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes. Overview:

The core focus for this position will be development, testing and rollout of applications. The position will require collaboration with internal team members, external vendors and stakeholders outside of the core team. Proven experience coordinating multiple assignments simultaneously under minimal supervision and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills. This role will primarily support Merchant Services.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, development, documentation and implementation of applications; often using new technologies and coding patterns
• Work with partners and project managers to understand business processes in order to understand business requirements; translating those business requirements into functional/technical requirements
• Perform analysis of requirements in order to identify gaps and impacts to existing code and functionality
• Serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource - will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
• Be able to investigate issues at depth independently – equal focus on code maintainability/readability besides code reusability

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of development experience
• JAVA, J2EE, SQL, Bash Scripting

Desired Skills:

• Spring-boot framework, Hibernate/ODBC,  Linux OS, Informatica, .NET Visual-Basic, JIRA/BitBucket/HorizonXLR
