Business Control Manager

Charlotte, North Carolina;

Job Description:

As part of the Consumer & Small Business Cross Product Controls Performance team, this role will be responsible for end to end oversight of controls for a designated Consumer & Small Business Product area driving out & delivering critical control enhancements by conducting control gap assessments to enhance visibility and ensure our products are operating as intended.

Business Control Manager Role Responsibility include:

  • Engage with the product organization by participating in key routines to assist with control identification, improvements & control coverage recommendations in accordance with "target state" Enterprise Policy and Line of Business Standard(s).  This work will include ensuring Enterprise required control reporting is accurate, executed timely, enhanced and socialized to leadership
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with Consumer and Small Business Product Executives, Control Owners, Consumer and Small Business Product Centralized Business Control Leadership, Compliance & Operational Risk
  • Own & Manage Product Control Forums to ensure adequate control coverage is discussed on a monthly basis in order to demonstrate overall product health
  • Follow Cross Product control performance, policy & procedures processes working closely with our Cross Product control intake coordinators providing insight & awareness that will be needed to ensure controls appropriately documented, risks are assessed & metrics are developed with product owners, as needed
  • Additional responsibilities to be assigned as needed based on business needs and requirements

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of Business Control, Compliance and/or Risk experience
  • Strong understanding of Controls, Procedures, Policies and Standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to succinctly convey information to executive leaders and stakeholders
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel knowledge
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple businesses and/or business partners
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem solving & strong follow up skills

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in Consumer and Small Business
  • Knowledge of Home Loans, CVL, Payments, Card or Small Business Products
  • ORCIT / Key Measures
  • Control and Performance metric development
  • SharePoint / ShareDrive
  • Exposure to SPI / legacy process, risk and control framework
