Sampling & Test Development Specialist II

Job Description:

The Sampling and Test Development Specialist II will independently gather test scripting and data requirements and work with data partners to ensure appropriate test design and sampling requirements are incorporated in to the Test Plans. Provides peer coaching and direction where needed. This role is responsible for accessing pertinent databases or acquiring raw data from third party sources along with all associated documentation and for documenting business procedures within testing scripts. The Sampling and Test Development Specialist II often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with procurement of data to be used for testing and the structure and design of complex tests.

This role will deliver high-quality results and manage, manipulate and summarize large quantities of data. The Sampling and Test Development Specialist II must participate in and occasionally lead additional projects across Sampling and Test Development including escalation of areas requiring process refinement and revision and taking leadership role to affect changes when needed.

The Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) organization has an opportunity for a Senior Analyst role within the Sampling Methodology and Oversight team. Working with a team of skilled professionals, you become part of an experienced and dedicated team that is committed to providing sampling analytical and oversight support to Senior Leadership and broad sampling consultation services to EIT teammates and business partners.


Responsibilities include:
• Plays a critical role in implementing and improving the EIT sampling methodologies commensurate with the risk and control profile across various business lines and product portfolios. Focuses on sampling effectiveness and efficiency
• Assists senior management in installing controls surrounding test data sourcing and sampling. Performs ongoing sampling oversight analysis and monitoring
• Collaborates with EIT testing and sampling leads to evaluate sampling practices and identify deviations from the published standards. Performs risk-based sampling portfolio surveillance for accuracy and adequacy. Drives remediation plans so that any deficiencies identified will be addressed properly by responsible parties. Tracks and reports on remediation activities for performance metrics.
• Provides analytical or quality assurance (QA) support to other EIT priorities and initiatives to address critical or urgent risk issues.


Candidate is expected to have expertise in data analytics, sampling, or reporting, as well as strong background in risk management and quality assurance. Candidate will work in a collaborative environment but is expected to take on initiative to independently uncover risk issues and drive resolution.
 

Required Skills:
• Strong analytical skills and thinking. Advanced knowledge of data analytics and sampling.
• Proficient coding skills in one of Bank’s common programming languages, e.g. SQL, Tableau, VBA, or Python. Proficiency with Excel pivot tables, formulas and/or Macros.
• Prior experiences in risk management, compliance or business control
• Advanced knowledge of quality control test design and sampling requirements
•Ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure and in a fast-paced or changing environment
• Strong research and reporting skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and problem solver
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in analytical focused subjects, e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Business Management with a quantitative concentration
