Job Description*
We are looking to recruit an individual with extensive experience of leading high performing teams that deliver financial reporting capabilities in Global Banking business
The individual will have regular interactions with a broad range of senior stakeholders, including GBS leadership in India and GBAM Finance leadership in global locations.
This individual will be working with various functional teams including BFOs, Product control, Bankers, Technology etc. to support Management Reporting and Analysis, business partnering, expense management and recovery processes etc.
This individual should have sound understanding and experience of Banking business and product suite in Business finance operations and/or product control domains.
Thorough understanding of global Banking business and leadership skills are prerequisites.
Responsibilities*
- Perform end-to-end deal accounting activities across Investment Banking transactions, including deal setup, revenue booking, expense review, invoicing, reconciliations, and deal closure.
- Review engagement letters, fee letters, closing documents, and other deal-related documentation to determine revenue recognition, billing, and expense recovery requirements.
- Calculate, validate, and book revenue in accordance with approved fee arrangements, deal milestones, and deal accounting procedures.
- Review deal-related expenses, process recoveries and reimbursements, and support provisions, write-offs, and deal accounting adjustments.
- Investigate cash receipts, resolve unmatched items, and perform reconciliations between deal accounting systems, sub-ledgers, bank accounts, and the general ledger.
- Partner with business & operations team to resolve deal accounting, invoicing, cash, and documentation-related queries.
- Support month-end and quarter-end activities, reporting requirements, balance sheet reviews, and timely resolution of operational exceptions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in automation initiatives, system enhancements, testing, and implementation activities.
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to Investment Banking teams, providing end-to-end deal accounting oversight and ensuring the accurate recognition, reporting, and settlement of transaction-related revenues and expenses

CA/ICWA/CS/CFA/MBA Finance/PG in Finance from reputed university

Experience Range*
7 to 8 years with 5 years’ experience in Global Banking
Foundational skills*
- Strong understanding of Investment Banking products, deal lifecycles, and transaction structures across Advisory, ECM, DCM, and Syndicated transactions.
- Sound knowledge of deal accounting, including revenue recognition, expense recovery, invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial controls.
- Ability to interpret engagement letters, fee schedules, closing documents, syndicate agreements, and other contractual documentation to determine accounting and billing requirements.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, sub-ledger accounting, general ledger processes, and resolution of accounting and reconciliation exceptions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex transactions, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with business partners while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
