Process Overview*
EIT is a centralized group within Global Risk Management responsible for independent testing of operational processes within the eight lines of business and enterprise control functions at Bank of America to ensure the company is in compliance with domestic and international laws, rules and regulations, and that risk and controls procedures are operating effectively.
Job Description*
The Sampling & Test Development associate is responsible for designing and supporting high-quality manual and automated testing solutions through effective sampling, data validation, and governance practices. This role collaborates with Test Owners, Front Line Units, data partners, and Test Execution teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, sound sampling methodologies, and test structures that support automation.
The associate independently acquires and validates data from internal and external sources, documents testing procedures and sampling requirements, and resolves issues related to data procurement, sample design, and test development. The role is accountable for maintaining data integrity, implementing changes to sampling requirements, and ensuring accurate tracking of testing activities within the System of Record (SOR).
Responsibilities*
- Partner with Test Owners, Front Line Units, data providers, and Test Execution teams to develop and enhance manual and automated testing approaches.
- Gather, validate, and document data requirements, ensuring accurate sample populations and alignment with test objectives.
- Incorporate appropriate sampling methodologies and governance requirements into test plans and execution strategies.
- Evaluate and coordinate pilot testing activities, providing recommendations to improve test effectiveness and quality.
- Design, maintain, and update sampling procedures, test scripts, and support documentation.
- Drive test structures and methodologies that enable automation and scalable testing solutions.
- Participate across the testing lifecycle, including intake, planning, execution, reporting, and issue remediation, providing subject matter expertise and guidance.
- Analyze, manipulate, and summarize large data sets to support testing activities and deliver high-quality results.
- Identify and resolve data sourcing, sampling, and test design issues while maintaining data integrity and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate test status, milestones, and deliverables within the System of Record (SOR).
- Lead initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Escalate and drive resolution of areas requiring process refinement, policy updates, or procedural enhancements.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support effective test execution and risk management objectives.

Foundational skills*
- Extensive experience in Audit, Testing, Quality Assurance, Risk, and Compliance functions, with Compliance or Risk-related certifications considered an advantage.
- Strong expertise in sampling methodologies, test design, test execution, and quality assurance frameworks, with the ability to translate business objectives into comprehensive testing requirements.
- Advanced technical proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Power BI, and other business intelligence and analytics platforms.
- Hands-on experience sourcing, validating, and analyzing data from diverse environments including DB2, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Hive, and enterprise data warehouses.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data mining, data acquisition, and automation concepts, with a proven ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements through automation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including data analytics, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet service level agreements (SLAs), and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently solve complex business and technical challenges.
- Strong business acumen and extensive functional knowledge, coupled with the ability to assess risk, evaluate control effectiveness, and drive operational excellence.
- Excellent verbal, written, and business communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and effectively engage with senior leadership.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships, collaborate across multiple lines of business, and influence stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
