Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Job expectations include working with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business' strategic objectives, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions, and contributing to the architecture roadmap.

  • The Senior Architect, Cloud Transformation & Modernization, will lead the strategic evolution of the CashPro platform through cloud adoption, regulatory compliance initiatives, and enterprise technology modernization.
  • This role is responsible for defining and executing the Cloud/AWS strategy, driving the delivery of RBI-mandated capabilities on the bank.in domain, and accelerating the remediation of critical end-of-life technologies across the platform.
  • The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across multiple application teams, establish target-state architectures and technology standards, and partner with business, engineering, security, and infrastructure stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.
  • This leader will play a critical role in reducing technical debt, improving operational efficiency, mitigating security and compliance risks, and enabling the future growth and innovation of the CashPro platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
  • Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
  • Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
  • Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
  • Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
  • Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
  • Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
  • Lead the Cloud/AWS strategy and roadmap for CashPro, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Drive the delivery of the RBI-regulated bank.in initiative, including the design and expansion of CashPro capabilities hosted on the new domain.
  • Define target-state architectures and modernization strategies that improve scalability, resiliency, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the remediation of end-of-life technologies, reducing security risks, technical debt, and operational vulnerabilities across the CashPro platform.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering best practices across development teams.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Risk, and Compliance organizations to deliver strategic technology initiatives.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native AWS services and emerging technologies to accelerate innovation and business value.
  • Implement FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending, improve resource utilization, and maximize return on technology investments.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams while influencing enterprise technology decisions.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and technology partnerships while driving successful execution of cloud transformation and modernization programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-based solutions, preferably on AWS.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale cloud transformation, application modernization, and migration initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technology roadmaps and target-state architectures for complex enterprise platforms.
  • Deep understanding of security, risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance within highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading remediation and modernization of end-of-life technologies, technical debt reduction, and platform modernization programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, product partners, and engineering teams.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors, and strategic technology partners.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Professional, TOGAF, or equivalent architecture/cloud certifications preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect Professional preferred).
  • Experience leading cloud transformation and modernization programs.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, microservices, and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with EOL technology remediation and technical debt reduction.
  • Background in financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML, analytics, and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
