Job Description:
This job is responsible for the development of data architectural solutions for complex initiatives within one or more lines of business and control functions. Key responsibilities include assisting solution-driven discussions, supporting adherence to the enterprise data management policy and standards, and supporting architecture design reviews to ensure integration of data architecture principles in technology solutions. Job expectations include understanding enterprise data architectural principles and data management processes and routines.

Position Summary:

The Database Migration Specialist / Database Architect will execute end-to-end DB2 Sailfish to Cloud Rack migration activities, including environment validation, data migration, intensive testing, and security/compliance assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes data solutions and architecture for large, complex initiatives that align with the enterprise data architecture strategy and technology and platform decisions
  • Provides clear and concise responses to questions regarding the enterprise data architecture strategy
  • Contributes to multiple priorities in a matrixed environment with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communicates effectively to influence agreement between partners and escalates items, as needed, to ensure execution activities remain on track
  • Ensures all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies and standards are met
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment to resolve organizational impediments and blockers
  • Shares enterprise data architectural principles, processes, and routines
  • Execute DB2 Sailfish to DB2 Cloud Rack migrations including environment and configuration validation.
  • Validate infrastructure, database configuration, network connectivity, and access controls.
  • Perform functionality, performance, stress, scalability, and failover testing.
  • Execute data migration, reconciliation, and integrity validation.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, IBM, and security teams to resolve issues.
  • Develop migration of runbooks, validation reports, and sign-off documentation.
  • Support cutover execution and post-migration stabilization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of applicable experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 (LUW) or Oracle database platforms.
  • Proven delivery of large-scale database or platform migrations.
  • Strong testing mindset with data validation and reconciliation experience.
  • Experience working across multiple technical and vendor teams.
  • The best practices and regulated environments are preferred.
  • Large scale database migration experience.

$120,000.00 - $136,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
