Job Description:

This role is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the role include delivering complex features and technology enablers that improve development efficiencies. They provide technical thought leadership based on the significant experience they have built through multiple software implementations and have developed both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. The individuals in this role can also lead and be accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery (this is based on the scale of implementation and skillsets required

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in platform, systems, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, with a strong focus on automation, integration, and enterprise-scale delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization and cloud platforms and services in production environments, including highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration-as-code, policy-as-code, and DevOps/GitOps operating models.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated build, validation, testing, release, and deployment processes using tools such as Maven, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or similar, and scripting with Python, Java, or equivalent languages.
  • Experience integrating provisioning workflows with virtualization, networking, identity, monitoring, security, and configuration management services.
  • Deep knowledge of web protocols, operating systems, hypervisors, distributed systems architecture, and industry-standard engineering frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud security capabilities, including container scanning, cloud workload protection, and related security tooling.
  • Experience applying Agile development practices, test-driven development, automated testing, and quality engineering practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with customers and stakeholders on solution design and requirements gathering.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry or another highly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Experience with identity and access management frameworks, tools, and integrations.
  • Experience administering Linux, UNIX, and Windows systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with container platforms and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Cloud provider certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise with major cloud platforms.
  • Experience architecting solutions using modern software engineering, automation, and delivery practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
