Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
Lead the engineering team responsible for data acquisition capabilities within the Market Risk Suite, with accountability for delivery quality, platform stability, architectural integrity, and execution against business priorities.
Partner closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders to translate priorities into an executable engineering roadmap and measurable delivery outcomes.
Set team priorities, allocate capacity effectively, and ensure the right balance across new development, production support, modernization, and engineering excellence initiatives.
Lead collaboration across architecture, product, platform, and partner engineering teams to design and deliver cohesive solutions across a large-scale enterprise risk platform ecosystem.
Represent the organization in engineering, delivery, and operational governance forums, ensuring priorities, risks, and dependencies are visible and actively managed.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology roles delivering and operating business-critical platforms.
5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including direct people management, coaching, and performance development.
Strong experience owning end-to-end engineering delivery for large-scale enterprise risk platforms, with a track record of improving reliability, quality, and operational performance.

Proven success managing cross-functional stakeholders and leading through complexity in large, matrixed organizations.
Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to engage effectively with senior technology and business leaders.
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle practices, engineering governance, backlog management, system architecture and design, and modern delivery disciplines.
Strong hands-on technical skills in object-oriented programming, with experience in Java and Python.
Desired Qualifications
Experience leading engineering teams supporting Market Risk, Risk Analytics, or regulatory-facing platforms.
Hands-on experience with Bank of America proprietary platforms such as Quartz is preferred.
Familiarity with large-scale, distributed, or data-intensive platforms and the architectural leadership challenges associated with them.
