Process Overview*
LCM GBGM AML Screening process supports ongoing customer due diligence through structured screening of Clients and Related Parties across sanctions, SPF/PEP, and adverse media databases. The process involves identification, validation, and assessment of alerts to determine potential matches and associated risks. SPF/PEP and Negative News alerts are evaluated for materiality, relevance, and risk impact to support informed, risk-based outcomes. Based on the assessment, alerts are either closed or escalated for further review by the Line of Business. The process emphasizes consistent documentation, regulatory compliance, and audit-ready decisioning aligned with global financial crimes standards
Job Description*
The LCM GBGM AML Screening Associates are responsible for performing Client and Related Party screening alerts as part of Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes. This includes identifying, reviewing, and recommending appropriate actions (no action required or escalation) for Negative News (Adverse Media) and SPF/PEP alerts on behalf of the GBGM Line of Business, as part of the Bank of America Customer Due Diligence (CDD) framework.
The role involves determining whether alerts correspond to the customer by accurately confirming the identity of individuals or entities and assessing the materiality and relevance of adverse information. Based on this assessment, the analyst recommends escalation for further review and investigation where required. The role requires strong analytical capability, sound risk judgment, and the ability to make well-supported decisions through clear documentation
Responsibilities*
Demonstrate strong analytical, research, and computer skills, including effective use of online research tools and internal systems to support investigations.
Perform end-to-end review of screening alerts, including sanctions, PEP, and adverse media, ensuring accurate identification and disposition of alerts.
Exhibit high attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining accuracy.
Clearly articulate findings through well-structured documentation, ensuring that all decisions are supported by factual, concise, and auditable rationale.
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Line of Business partners, by providing timely and precise communication as part of the alert governance process.
Ensure accuracy and quality in research and documentation, recognizing that the integrity of findings directly impacts risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
Apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, assess its relevance, and draw logical conclusions to support risk-based decision-making.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effectively managing time and priorities to balance quality, accuracy, and turnaround time.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for screening processes, offering guidance on complex scenarios and supporting consistency in decision-making.
Support onboarding and training of new hires, enabling faster ramp-up and ensuring readiness to handle production work effectively.
Perform additional responsibilities and ad hoc tasks as assigned by management
