Job Description:
Act as a performance coach for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management assisting Financial Advisor Practices and Advisory Branch Managers and Market Leadership teams in developing and executing strategies and tactics to increase the productivity of Financial Advisors and their respective teams, and ultimately enhancing the client experience. Assist in building truly effective teams which have a tremendously positive influence on the performance of the organization, and can be a critical driver of shareholder value. The MPC will engage in research, content development, and program execution related to organization design and best practices.
The Performance Coach role is responsible for coaching Financial Advisors, their teams and/or Market Leadership teams, developing strategies and tactics to increase productivity and effectiveness to enhance the client experience and ultimately drive business growth. Key responsibilities include individual and team coaching along with research, content development, and program execution. Job expectations include building and supporting high performance teams that positively influence organizational performance, consistently utilizing Practice Management Group (PMG) tools and processes, serving as a critical driver of shareholder value.
Responsibilities:
Deliver customized coaching/consulting to a segment of the advisor field, leveraging Merrill tools, standards, workflows, and technologies to drive advisor effectiveness and business impact. Serve as a trusted confidante, applying business and leadership acumen to understand and improve practice performance, empower responsibility and accountability, increase client acquisition efforts, and enhance client experience, delivering a defined number of coaching and consulting hours per month.
Facilitate high value peer communities and teambuilding experiences, with blended learning experiences, leveraging leadership coaching processes and our proprietary Elite Growth Practice framework. Utilizing internal business performance analytics to extract data-driven insights, strengthen collaboration and elevate practice effectiveness.
Partner with Market Executives to support high impact local programming supporting advisor performance while championing change and adoption of key Bank of America and Merrill strategies.
Actively expand outreach to advisors prime for development by engaging PMG resources, providing education on programs, workshops, and tools that strengthen practice management disciplines and enhance the client and advisor experience.
Collaborate with fellow Performance Coaches and PMG partners to support 1:1 coaching, “find a coach” requests, peer group facilitation, enterprise projects, and emerging Merrill priorities, operating with strong self-direction as part of a nationally dispersed, virtual team.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of coaching and consulting experience
Deep understanding of wealth management, including product knowledge, regulatory and supervisory requirements, industry trends, and firm-wide initiatives
Proven experience coaching senior leaders in a results-driven, sales environment required. Experience coaching Financial Advisors and/or advisor teams, preferred
Proven ability as a coach and accountability partner through high-impact 1:1 and group coaching engagements
Strong knowledge and experience in practice management, including:
Client acquisition and retention
Teaming and organizational design
Practice succession planning
Advisor productivity and census growth
Leadership and practice operations
Ability to develop and execute growth strategies and tactical action plans to improve sales leadership performance and business outcomes
Experience applying consulting-style approaches to improve team effectiveness, structure, and execution
Experience conducting research and translating insights into practical coaching content, tools, and programs
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership teams and/or Advisors
Ability to influence without direct authority and drive adoption of recommended strategies
Familiarity with goals-based wealth management, advisor team structures, and client experience models
Experience presenting to and facilitating audiences ranging from 10 to several hundred participants, including developing related content
Must be able to travel at least 40%
Must have SIE and Series 7 or must obtain within 120 days

Ability to assess advisor practices and teams, identify gaps, and recommend best practices aligned with firm strategy
