Rates Sales Analyst
Job Description:
The Bank of America Rates Sales desk operates at the center of global financial markets, economic policy, and geopolitical developments. The team delivers a full suite of interest rate products—including U.S. Treasuries, futures, swaps, swaptions, and other rate‑based derivatives—to a diverse institutional client base. Clients include Sovereign Wealth Funds, Central Banks, Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, and Insurance Companies. The desk partners closely with trading, research, and risk teams to provide market liquidity, timely insights, and differentiated analysis, helping clients navigate and manage risk in a dynamic macroeconomic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring global macroeconomic data, central bank activity, and geopolitical developments, and assessing their impact on interest rate markets.
- Supporting senior sales professionals in servicing institutional clients through market updates, analytics, and trade‑related inquiries.
- Developing an understanding of monetary and fiscal policy dynamics—particularly the role of the Federal Reserve, ECB, BoJ, BoE, and other global central banks—and how policy expectations drive rates and volatility.
- Partnering closely with traders to understand risk management, pricing, and execution across interest rate products.
- Contributing to desk projects and client materials that enhance product knowledge and market insight.
- Collaborating with internal partners including research teams, trading desks, and support functions.
- Formulating independent market views and trade ideas, with opportunities to present insights and recommendations to senior team members.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in global macroeconomics, financial markets, and interest rate products.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate market views and ideas.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort working with data and market analytics.
