The Team

We strive for a “culture of better” across our firm and recruit the best talent. We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead complex tenders (RFx) on an end-to-end basis.

Bid Management is a critical pre-sales function within our GPS franchise. The team is a key source of market intelligence and competitive insight, submitting over 6,000 bid responses per year and supporting more than $450 million in new GPS business annually.

As a Bid Manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of tender responses, including RFIs, RFPs, proactive proposals, and pitchbooks, for then GPS business across EMEA. Coverage spans liquidity management, payments & receipts, trade & supply chain finance, transactional FX and commercial card. The team supports strategic, must-win deals.

We continue to expand our pre-sales function with a strong focus on proactive opportunities and cross-product commercialisation. This includes researching and drafting proactive proposals and ensuring client communications are compelling, consistent and compliant.

This position is based in our London office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Own the end-to-end bid management lifecycle for must-win and complex (multi-product and/or multi-region) GPS deals.

  • Author technical tender responses (RFx), proactive proposals and pitchbooks.

  • Facilitate client solutioning to ensure recommendations remain considered, consultative and commercially sound.

  • Manage and influence resources across the deal teams and other stakeholders to minimise risk, develop solutions, and to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.

  • Coordinate deal team members, including facilitating deal status calls, managing reviews, and producing internal communications and reporting.

  • Monitor progress to ensure adherence to deadlines, action plans and quality standards.

  • Qualify opportunities and drive bid/no-bid decisioning to ensure resources are applied effectively.

  • Lead deal post-mortems to capture and share lessons learned across the organisation.

  • Provide consultative support on bid management best practices and EMEA cash management.

  • Ensure supported deals are accurately and timely tracked within the sales pipeline.

What we are looking for

  • Technical writing, deal assessment, planning, and project / bid management expertise.

  • Experience leading cross-regional deal or project teams and advising peers on bid management best practices.

  • Project and/or bid management accreditations beneficial (e.g. APMP, PMP, Prince2).

  • Proven experience using RFP automation tools, proposal management software, and sales enablement platforms (e.g. Seismic).

  • Experience in transaction banking or related enterprise business-to-business “B2B” presales environments.

  • Familiarity with EU cash management is advantageous.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and clear ownership of outcomes.

  • Understanding of needs-based / consultative selling methodologies.

  • Solid grasp of document design fundamentals and advanced Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel).  

  • A structured, analytical and detail-orientated approach.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

  • Developed commercial acumen and business development expertise.

  • Treasury qualifications desirable (e.g. ACT CertICM, AFP CTP).
