Job Description
Background:
Bank of America Global Vendor Finance (“GVF”) provides customer financing programs for leading equipment manufacturers, dealers, distributors and service providers, as well as independent leasing and finance companies. GVF works closely with the Global Corporate Banking and Global Commercial Banking clients of Bank of America. GVF provides comprehensive vendor finance capabilities which help our clients differentiate themselves from competitors, drive incremental sales, enhance cash flows, generate liquidity, and increase market share. GVF’s capabilities include:
- Customized program structures including wholesale and retail models, with and without recourse
- Broad range of equipment types including transportation, material handling, construction, hardware, software, medical, clean energy and others
- Full suite of financing products including secured loans, finance leases, FMV leases, TRAC leases and purchase of receivables
- Global capabilities including US, Canada, Mexico, EMEA and Asia Pacific
- Individual transactions ranging from $50,000 to over $100 million
Job Description:
Associate will help drive growth of the GVF business through supporting two key sales activities:
Supporting senior Program Managers in the management and growth of existing vendor finance programs. Associate will help support relationship development, transaction execution and growth initiatives. Supporting senior Originators in the development of new vendor finance programs. Associate will conduct market research, engage in client prospecting and qualification and support new program structuring and execution.
In fulfilling these sales activities, associate will regularly engage with LOB leadership, credit, operations, legal, syndications and customer service, as well as Global Corporate Banking and Global Commercial Banking client managers. All associate activities will be under the guidance of GVF Sales Executives and assigned Originators/Program Managers. Routine travel to meet with clients and prospects is required.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree – accounting, finance, economics or other business concentration; or relevant work experience, MBA preferred
Preferred Prior Work Experience:
5 plus years of experience in the commercial finance and/or equipment finance markets, with a preference for vendor finance experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Self-starter with a successful track record of developing prospects and deepening client relationships
- Desire to pursue a long-term career in sales
- Proven ability to successfully manage internal/external stakeholder relationships – deal team members, client managers, clients, COI’s
- Team-oriented and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Solid knowledge of vendor finance program structures, including commercial, financial, legal, tax, pricing and accounting concepts
- Experience operating within a large, regulated financial institution
- Professional conduct, compliant behavior and high ethical standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications; competency with pricing software beneficial (Super Trump, T-Value)
- Travel Requirements 20%
