Job Description:
This job is responsible for directing a team of finance managers to develop or validate quantitative analytics and models for specific business units or risk types. Job expectations include directing activity in their region to support business units and acting as a subject matter expert on specified quantitative modeling techniques, as well as serving as the first or second line of defense overseeing model performance, model risk, and model governance on critical model portfolios.
We are seeking a senior leader to oversee the New York-based Quantitative Strategies team within Bank of America’s Equities Prime Financing business. This team is responsible for developing analytics and models that support balance sheet management, optimize financial assets, and deliver client-focused solutions. The successful candidate will lead a team within the Equities Quantitative Strategies and Data group, driving innovation and collaboration across trading, sales, and technology.
Responsibilities:
Directs a quantitative team with model coverage of specified focus areas and oversees stakeholder engagement, including team effort in preparation for audit and regulatory exams
Sets quantitative work priorities in line with the bank’s overall strategy and prioritization
Identifies continuous improvements through reviews of approval decisions on relevant model development or model validation tasks, critical feedback on technical documentation, and effective challenges on model development/validation, while providing oversight to managers on reviews
Maintains and provides oversight of model development and model risk management in respective focus areas to support business requirements and the enterprise's risk appetite
Leads and provides methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to effectively challenge and influence the strategic direction and tactical approaches of development/validation projects and identify areas of potential risk
Works closely with model stakeholders and senior management with regard to communication of submission and validation outcomes
Coordinates team projects, while managing and providing guidance to senior level staff on areas of expertise
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the New York Quant team, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
Oversee the development and implementation of quantitative models and analytics used for balance sheet management and client servicing.
Partner with trading and sales stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and solutions that enhance business performance.
Collaborate with technology teams to design and implement scalable tools and infrastructure for global use.
Manage team performance, career development, and resource allocation for a group of quantitative professionals.
Ensure robust governance, model validation, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Contribute to global coordination efforts within the Equities Quantitative Strategies and Data group.

Skills:
Extensive experience in quantitative finance, ideally within equities or prime financing (Physical/Synthetic PB, Stock Loan).
Proven track record of working in quant/strat teams with hands-on experience in analytics, modelling, and large-scale data handling.
Strong managerial experience, including leading high-performing teams in a complex, global environment.
Deep understanding of financial markets, risk management, and balance sheet optimization.
Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across trading, sales, and technology.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance) or relevant work experience
Familiarity with programming languages and data analytics tools (Python, C++).
Experience in building scalable quantitative solutions in partnership with technology teams.
Global perspective and ability to navigate cross-regional priorities.
