Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing clients and related credit products, partnering closely with relationship management, sales/trading, treasury management, operations and risk teams to support the client relationship. Key responsibilities include underwriting, monitoring, managing operational needs and/or client requests. Job expectations include credit-focused client management responsibilities, independent thought leadership, strong leadership skills, the ability to provide feedback to less experienced teammates and may also manage a team.

• Global Markets Credit ("GMC") is responsible for executing robust and consistent credit underwriting for Global Markets lending activities within the first line of defense.The Credit officer leads core credit underwriting and ongoing portfolio management functions for the US Credit Asset Finance ("CAF") portfolio.  The Facilities are offered to credit and equity funds, collateralized by syndicated loans, private credit loans, private equity stakes, and other bespoke collateral packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with relationship management and product partners to assess clients’ credit needs and create solutions
  • Leads loan structure conversations and negotiates loan documentation with clients and internal/external legal partners
  • Drives credit and risk approval processes for new credit originations, renewals, increases, and modifications
  • Leads ongoing monitoring efforts for a portfolio of clients in compliance with regulations, policy and procedure
  • Drives the growth of funded loans and revenue while mitigating risks, maintaining asset quality and adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Serves as an escalation point for complex credit transactions
  • Mentors and supports associates
  • Key responsibilities will include vetting and approving transactions in the deal screenings and driving term negotiation, diligence, and credit committee processes.
  • Review and potentially challenge all elements of transactions including client selection, structure, collateral, and cashflow stress analysis. 
  • Post-close, the role will have responsibility for ongoing deal and portfolio monitoring and will exercise credit approval authority for new deals, amendments, waivers, renewals, and extensions. 

Required Qualifications:

•8+ years of experience in financial services with one or more of the following: Commercial Credit Underwriting and/or credit risk management, structuring, loan origination, public rating agencies, and securitization. 

•Familiarity with securitization structures and an understanding of macroeconomic drivers.

•The candidate will likely have had experience of reviewing  lending or debt transactions including securitization or collateral based lending facilities and derivatives.

•Candidate should exhibit strong analytical skills, personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility

•Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting, or Economics majors preferred with strong academic credentials.

New York pay range:

$143,100.00 - $225,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
