Process Overview*

Business Enablement & Support, a division of the GM & GCIB Finance organization, is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day operations across the platform and centrally overseeing operational excellence initiatives. The team establishes, maintains, and monitors the group’s technology and change‑management portfolios; ensures adherence to key enterprise policies and standards—including policy identification, FLU guidance creation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting—and leads employee engagement and inclusion council activities across the function.

In addition, the team plays a critical role in AI governance and oversight, including evaluating AI‑driven solutions for risk, control, and policy alignment. The function partners closely with Technology to shape business cases, assess value realization, influence prioritization, and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The team also brings strong expertise in OPEX routines, driving standardization, control maturity, and end‑to‑end process discipline.

Further, Business Enablement & Support enables the organization to benchmark process health, identify optimization opportunities, and elevate operational performance across GM & GCIB Finance.

Job Description*

We are looking to hire a seasoned leader in Business Enablement & Support to serve as a trusted partner within the GM & GCIB Finance organization, responsible for driving operational excellence, technology enablement, AI governance, policy adherence, and change‑management maturity across the platform. This person will manage cross‑functional initiatives, partner closely with Technology, Operations, Finance, and Compliance partners, and play a central role in transforming the operating model through disciplined execution, strong governance, and support the finance leadership with data‑driven decision‑making.

The role requires a highly analytical, execution‑focused leader with deep understanding of OPEX routines, process frameworks, risk governance, and enterprise policies—combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide teams through complex, multi‑dimensional change.

Responsibilities*

  • A key resource of the Business Enablement & Support function supporting daily operations, enterprise routines, and strategic initiatives across GM & GCIB Finance.
  • Drive the operational excellence agenda, ensuring process standardization, controls maturity, and continuous improvement across business‑critical activities.
  • Identify, document, and assess AI opportunities; collaborate with Technology, FLUs, and SMEs to evaluate feasibility, ROI, risk considerations, and operational impact.
  • Ensure adherence to AI use‑case governance, including risk alignment, model‑development documentation, compliance with enterprise AI policies, and responsible‑AI practices.
  • Govern technology and change portfolios, ensuring transparency, prioritization, sequencing, and delivery accountability.
  • Partner closely with Technology and Finance SMEs to understand pain points and facilitate solutions using emerging tools, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Be a trusted support partner to senior Finance leaders, providing insights, dashboards, and recommendations grounded in data and operational analytics
  • Creation of business cases for strategic investments based on strong ROI, cost–benefit analysis by leveraging appropriate technology solutions.
  • Monitor OPEX initiatives – tracking of ongoing projects, completion as per agreed timelines (proactive escalation where required) and realization of committed saves
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise policies, standards, and controls, including policy identification, FLU guidance development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Develop strong executive communication materials—including business reviews, CFO updates, and strategic investment recommendations.
  • Review Enterprise and CFO OPEX Award categories, annual timelines, and submission criteria; ensure high‑quality business cases are developed and submitted on time to maximize the organization’s opportunity to secure award recognition and enterprise visibility.

Graduate/ Postgraduate in Finance/Management from Tier I/II institute

Experience Range*

12–18 years of relevant experience in finance domain related to business finance, change management, transformation etc.

Foundational skills*

1. Operational Excellence & Process Skills

  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to map, analyze, and redesign end‑to‑end processes
  • Proficient in operational diagnostics, root‑cause analysis, and control uplift
  • Ability to run structured OPEX routines, governance forums, and cadence management

2. Change Management & Governance

  • Expertise in project and program management: intake, prioritization, scoping, planning, UAT, benefits realization
  • Ability to drive adoption of change with strong stakeholder engagement
  • Skilled in managing complex cross‑functional initiatives with global stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of enterprise policy governance and first‑line risk routines

3. Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills

  • Strong analytical ability to interpret trends, dashboards, KPIs/OKRs, and operational performance metrics
  • Ability to create business cases grounded in ROI, cost–benefit analysis, and value realization
  • Advanced data storytelling and decision‑support capabilities

4. Stakeholder & Leadership Skills

  • Ability to influence senior leaders, challenge constructively, and drive alignment
  • High executive presence and communication excellence
  • Strong collaboration and relationship‑building across Finance, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Enterprise teams

5. Technology & AI Governance Basics

  • Understanding of technology lifecycle, system enhancements, business requirements, and solution validation
  • Basic to intermediate literacy in AI/automation tools (GenAI, NLP, RPA, ML concepts)
  • Familiarity with AI governance standards, responsible‑AI practices, documentation, and risk alignment

Desired skills

  • Ability to run centralized OPEX portfolios, efficiency tracking, and enterprise savings frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise award categories (CFO/OPEX Awards) and ability to craft award‑ready business cases
  • Knowledge of digital tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, SQL (even at conceptual level)
  • Experience working with Technology partners on architecture discussions, feasibility assessments, and solution design
  • Strong awareness of enterprise risk management, operational risk frameworks, Change Governance Processes, and audit expectations
  • Ability to lead remediation efforts for findings or regulatory asks
  • Understanding of data governance, retention policies, and model governance frameworks
  • Skilled in creating leadership‑level materials (CFO briefings, AMF summaries, investment cases, strategy decks)
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
