Job Description:
This job is responsible for the delivery of a portion of the overall marketing strategy in the form of a portfolio of small to medium programs, capabilities or processes. Key responsibilities include owning or supporting marketing operations including performance, risks and controls, production audits/exams/maintenance, and content management. Job expectations include owning day to day relationships with key business partners, solving moderate to complex business problems and independently driving strategic marketing improvements and solutions.

We are looking for a Search Marketing Manager to join our high-expertise Paid Search team, working on some of the largest campaigns and budgets in the world. As a member of Bank of America’s SEM team, you will help shape and execute Paid Search strategies across various products, services and brands. You will partner with agencies and internal teams to drive change and engage prospects and customers, drive profitable outcomes for the brand, and keep pace with the ever-evolving requirements to win in the search advertising space. Collaborating with our industry-leading team and award-winning agency, you serve as an energetic, entrepreneurial voice to key internal stakeholders, helping them understand the business implications of audience-driven search, automation and AI, and other search trends. In the process of helping optimize Bank of America and Merrill's Paid Search campaigns, you will get exposure to high-level Paid Search expertise and dedicated teams at Google and Bing that few search industry professionals receive. The complexity of our brands and offerings and the critical nature of this source of traffic provide a compelling challenge and career fulfillment in building your craft.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all aspects of the Paid Search program and maximize the value across various lines of business

  • Become a trusted partner and collaborator with key partners and stakeholders in Digital Marketing, Finance, Media Planning, Operations, Legal, Risk, and Compliance

  • Efficiently and effectively manage accountability of agency resources

  • Contribute to strategic discussions among internal and agency search teams

  • Deliver Paid Search thought leadership and updates to key partners in a relatable, concise manner

  • Clearly articulate the performance of the Paid Search channel in business reviews

  • Work closely with colleagues on the SEO/GEO team to demonstrate the full value of Search to internal and external partners

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related experience in Paid Search with a top brand and/or agency

  • Strong understanding of Paid Search strategies and the business models of search, discovery, and answer engines (Google, Microsoft, Pinterest, YouTube, etc)

  • Experience with search advertising platforms and related technologies like Web Analytics tools and DMPs/CDPs (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google SA360, Adobe stack, etc)

  • Advanced knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Financial services or similarly regulated industry experience preferred, but not required

  • A strong communicator who has a keen ability to craft compelling verbal and written narratives with clarity and brevity

  • A dedicated leader and team player who is eager to help others

  • A willingness to adapt to changes in business needs and marketplace offerings

  • Well-organized, analytical, and creative

  • Technically savvy, with a natural interest in emerging technology

  • Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Financial services or similarly regulated industry experience preferred, but not required 

  • Experience in leveraging generative AI-based tools (Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc) for greater marketing effectiveness

  • Direct experience and expertise in with SEO/GEO

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
