Process Overview

Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting Bank information systems, confidential and proprietary
data, and customer information. Cyber Security technology function is responsible of development and maintenance
of security products across Bank of America. Team works on various security products and develops in-house
products.

Job Description

Responsible for leading the planning, designing, and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions to meet deployment requirements aligned with available playbooks and technical blueprints. Key responsibilities include providing and communicating technology solutions across audiences and overseeing projects and activities related to special initiatives or operations. Job expectations include leading the resolution process for problems, adhering to defined practices and policies to obtain results, and establishing input/output processes and working parameters for systems.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills requests from business users and operations, communicates technical status updates with appropriate teams, and oversees stability, resiliency, reliability, and the performance of multiple supported systems
• Mentors other team members and provides technical leadership
• Captures and translates business requirements into complex infrastructure and/or system design for specific implementations and collaborates with technology stakeholders, Solution Delivery Management teams, Technology Project Management teams, Solutions Engineering teams, and technical service providers for system design and deployment
• Supports change implementations, proactively identifies and resolves potential issues resulting from the changes, and performs access and/or physical provisioning/deprovisioning (additions, modifications, and deletions) for infrastructure and applications
• Provides consulting services to Core Technology Infrastructure (CTI) and technical partners, executes procedures reliably, and escalates appropriately to solve incidents quickly
• Provides release support when needed and manages engagement across audiences
• Provides full lifecycle management of the infrastructure and application environment

Requirements

• Education : B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/M.Sc./MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
• Certifications (If Any) :NA
• Experience Range : 8+ Years

Foundational skills

• Strong hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL in production environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and extension management.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture (process model, memory management, WAL, checkpoints, auto vacuum, query planner and executor).
• Strong proficiency in performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and analyzing slow queries.
• Hands on experience with backup and recovery strategies, including PITR (Point in Time Recovery) and tools like pgBackRest or Barman.
• Experience setting up and managing high availability and replication (physical/logical replication, streaming replication, failover tools like Patroni or repmgr).
• Strong PostgreSQL security knowledge: roles and privileges, SSL/TLS, encryption options, row-level security, and hardening for compliance.
• Strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL, PL/pgSQL functions, and database objects (views, triggers, roles, privileges).
• Expertise in Linux-based system administration, including monitoring, filesystem tuning, and troubleshooting resource bottlenecks.
• Practical experience with managed PostgreSQL services (such as AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Cloud SQL) in a production setting.
• Ability to perform capacity planning, schema design reviews, and collaborate with developers to improve database reliability and efficiency.
• Prior involvement in designing disaster recovery strategies across regions/availability zones, including regular DR drills and documentation.
• Basic proficiency in at least one application language commonly used with PostgreSQL (eg Python, Java, .NET, Node.js) for better collaboration with developers.
