Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.

Job Profile Summary:

This role is for an experienced Senior Engineer to build and lead the AMRS FX Derivatives and Risk technology team covering the FX Options and STIRT trading desk as well covering FX Risk horizontally across FX.

As the team’s US senior figure, you will lead a high-caliber team; represent the team in local forums; and be the primary representative to local users including Global Head of STIRT Trading and AMRS Head of FXO Trading.

You will lead a cross-functional team able to support across the stack - including Pricing, Risk and eTrading - during US hours.

Additionally you and the team will specialize in intraday risk management, where you will, in collaboration with the global FX Risk lead, take ownership of the FX Intraday Risk global team and continue to improve our state-of-the-art FX risk system.

The FX Derivatives and Risk Technology organization is a dynamic and expanding team delivering modern, high-performance systems that underpin Global FX Trading. Sitting at the intersection of Global Markets Front Office Trading, Quantitative Service Group and Engineering, the team builds the scalable tools that drive real-time decision making and front office trading activities.

As we scale our global footprint, we are looking for an experienced SeniorEngineer to join us as the local AMRS Lead – playing a central role in shaping and driving the technology that powers the FX Risk and Derivatives platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution

  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)

  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline

  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews

  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level

  • Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features

  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers

  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders

  • Represent the team to the local stakeholders owning stakeholder engagement and representing the team.

  • Build and scale a high-calibre engineering team focusing in front-to-back front-office trading systems.

  • Run the development of FX intraday risk systems in close collaboration with local FX heads and global FX risk tech leads.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in software engineering, with a strong track record in Financial Services (ideally front office technology).

  • Deep knowledge of Risk Systems, Trading Platforms or Pricing Engines within FX or similar Fixed Income asset classes.

  • Strong understanding of front office workflows.

  • Fluency in OO or Functional languages including but not limited to Python (preferred), C#, Java, or C++.

  • Track record of success working in Agile environments (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban) and continuous integration.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills in a high-pressure environment.

  • Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable in communicating with business users.
