Job Description:

Join our Network Services team as a Solution Engineer, responsible for working with technology partners to understand their business needs and objectives, and then designing technical solutions that meet those needs in the APAC region.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and costing out solutions that solve complex problems. Working with network engineering teams, Technology partners and consumers understand their needs and then design solutions that address those needs.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team working to improve and secure the bank's network infrastructure. Your role will include:

  • Collaborative Environment: Working with IT professionals, vendors, and stakeholders to provide solutions at point of project intake that meet the bank’s requirements.

Dynamic Work: Office-based and availability for after-hours work during critical project phases including some weekend hours.

Responsibilities:

Project Intake Solution Design

- Upon project intake, for non-standard requests work with engineering

- Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholders.

- Development of high-level designs including, technical requirements, scope, initial estimates of timeline, budget, and resource efforts. Documenting any caveats or risk known during initiation phase.

 Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are captured.

- Facilitate communication between project teams, engineering, and stakeholders, providing to provide end to end solution.

- Preparing and presenting solutions to senior management and stakeholders.

 Financial Management

- Forecast project budgets end to end

- Participate in financial forecasting and reporting, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.

- Support the management of project costs and financial documentation.

 Risk and Issue Management

- Identify potential project or technology risks and issues and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

 Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain comprehensive Solution documentation, reports, and meeting notes.

- Prepare regular project status reports and presentations for senior management.

- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.

 Continuous Improvement

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project intake and solution engineering processes and methodologies.

- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in project management.

- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills.

Skills:

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

- 7+ years of experience in Network engineering/Solution engineering or a related role.

 Skills and Competencies

- Proven experience of solution engineering across both data and security network disciplines

- Ability to understand Applications and application flows.

- Strong effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

- Excellent stakeholders management skill with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders, and address issues proactively and find effective solutions.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

- Teamwork: Experience working in collaborative environments and supporting cross-functional teams.

- Ability to operate with colleagues across different time zones with a flexible approach to working hours (ability to work varied hours) to successfully interact and communicate on a global level.

Desired Skills:

  • Certifications: Various IT certifications welcome, preferably Network and network security
  • Project Management certifications, Scrum Master is a plus.
  • Working knowledge and use of Jira
