Job Description
This job is responsible for analyzing the day-to-day issues, researching, and providing resolution for various issues identified within a business unit. Key responsibilities include supporting defined procedures, routine analytics, and creating reports and completing exception processing. Responsible for handling of USD and CAD cheques. This role will manage the cheques Clearing, return and deposits process and handle client inquiries . The candidate must demonstrate a strong client focus to collaborate across multiple teams to handle cheque Clearing, return and deposits process and resolve client inquiries accurately and timely.
Responsibilities
Data Entry
Filing
Upload files for proprietary system
Pull reports/cheque image copies from various system
Review and balance reports
Investigate discrepancies
Process accounting entries
Process in-clearing and returned cheques from Canadian clearing system
Assists with coordination of implementation for products, services, and operational solutions
Supports the design, documentation, implementation, and monitoring of new products and services
Provides guidance regarding procedural, technical, and operational changes
Expands business products knowledge within operations environment
Builds network by developing relationships with partners and teammates
Inspects data to identify issues and trends
Collects and interprets data to validate operational processes
Qualifications
Ability to handle large volume of work under stringent deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and keyboarding skills
Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; team player
Ability to meet established deadlines in a fast paced environment Familiar with local Payments Canada rules and regulations for cheque processing (ACSS/AUSS) would be an asset
Post-secondary education preferred but not required
Experience in financial services preferred but not required
Ability to adapt quickly with the willingness to learn; will be required to cover off different responsibilities within the unit as necessary
