Job Description:


This job is responsible for oversight of executive protection teams and activities within a specific geographic region and the health, safety and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America sponsored or hosted events. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of security plans and protocols, direction of activities to ensure safety and security of the senior management team and bank events, and delivery of threat analysis across various platforms with cross-functional teams.

Major Events Security creates a safe and secure business environment, that reflects Bank of America’s Values, through the professional delivery of effective, physical security and safety related services for senior management, employees, clients, guests and other stakeholders in support of bank or third party sponsored events and meetings around the world.

Manages the health, safety and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America sponsored or hosted events. Will be responsible for developing and implementing security plans and protocols for events, ensuring the safety of clients and associates. Ensures proper screening/vetting procedures are implemented for all event guests.

Will manage projects and assessments associated with the security of the event. Travels in advance of the event commencing and performs detailed security surveys for all identified locations, making the necessary contacts and arrangements to ensure guest safety. Will be responsible for analyzing and identifying potential threats through extensive monitoring and analysis of multiple platforms.

Maintains close working relationship with all lines of business supporting Major Events, working directly with Intelligence, Executive Protection and Protective Services. Must be able to identify and react to security situations 24/7 that may occur during events. Works closely with event planners, local law enforcement and venue partners.

Extensive hours on feet; Typical day for investor and internal management conferences is 14–15 hrs./day for consecutive days. Able to respond to all medical situations. Major Events Security Manager could be first on scene and required to perform first responder duties. Must be able to manage ongoing incidents, medical conditions and / or event investigations during the event. This is in addition to event oversight responsibilities with planner, event staff, additional security and venue. Have to be able to recognize priorities and what may be handled when you return to your room at the conclusion of day.

Responsibilities:

  • Security Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for each event, including risk assessments, security staffing requirements, and emergency response strategies.
  • Team Management: Select, train, and supervise security personnel. Ensure all security professionals are fully briefed on their responsibilities and the specifics of each event.
  • Coordination with External Agencies:  Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and private security firms to ensure a coordinated approach to event security.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all security activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest in security technology and procedures to enhance safety measures.
  • Incident Management: Serve as the primary contact for all security-related incidents. Lead the resolution with minimal disruption to the event, and ensure Security Leadership maintains awareness.
  • Investigates, responds to and documents incidents in a market with complex demands, high employee concentration, extended physical footprint and/or high-profile buildings/campuses, with geographical concentration of bank events / meetings / executive travel
  • Engages with senior line of business leaders as the senior Protective Services Manager across the market to ensure awareness of significant incidents, protests, and events
  • Partners with Life Safety, Threat Management, Executive Protection and Major Events, involving the senior leadership team as needed to ensure the safety of bank facilities
  • Provides oversight and subject matter expert to enterprise security projects and programs, and acts as a subject matter expert; influencing landlords to adjust security protocols when necessary
  • Develops, maintains and drives consistency in security processes/operations and in the delivery of training to drive consistency in employee safety, incident management and service delivery
  • Leads or participates in exercises that help assess facility security preparedness and conducts after action reviews with leadership
  • Manages large guard deployment program, working closely with Regional Security Manager on regional budget impacts and partnering with vendor to engage Law Enforcement for select events
  • Executes executive protection activities with decisiveness and precision, identifies and responds to security situations and events and coordinates timely deployment of teams and assets
  • Prioritizes and balances workload and cross-training across the team, ensuring team resiliency and capacity to manage competing priorities
  • Communicates event security information effectively and securely to key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management role
  • Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written) and be able to interact with internal customers/leadership and external partners.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with private security and law enforcement agencies.
  • Critical thinking under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated/self-starter.

Desired Qualifications:

  • AED/CPR/ First Responder Certified/TECC. Not required at time of hire but must obtain within 6 months of hiring.
  • CPP, PSP, or similar certification
  • Law Enforcement / Intelligence / Military / Event Security Background

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
