Job Description:
Act as a performance coach for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management assisting Financial Advisor Practices and Advisory Branch Managers and Market Leadership teams in developing and executing strategies and tactics to increase the productivity of Financial Advisors and their respective teams, and ultimately enhancing the client experience. Assist in building truly effective teams which have a tremendously positive influence on the performance of the organization, and can be a critical driver of shareholder value. The MPC will engage in research, content development, and program execution related to organization design and best practices.
The Practice Management Group (PMG) for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management (MLWM) assists in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to increase the capacity and growth of Financial Advisory Practices. The Merrill Performance Coach (MPC) works with Financial Advisors (FAs), Advisor Trainees, and Field Leadership to help strengthen Client Acquisition, Advisor Census, Teaming Facilitation, Practice Succession, and the Client Experience. The MPC engages in activities such as 1:1 and peer group coaching, research, content development, and program execution to facilitate effective team building and performance improvement. The MPC serves as a coach and accountability partner for advisors and their teams through high-impact coaching and delivery of consulting resources covering a comprehensive menu of topics. The MPC will assist advisors and their teams with learning and developing action steps to implement the Elite Growth Practice blueprint model into their practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for a segment of the advisor field around coaching/consulting with impact measures around market share engagement and coaching hours
Responsible for follow up and action around daily find a coach requests
Promotion and education of the PMG Find a Coach, programs, workshops and through goals based coaching subscription services
Facilitation of multiple peer communities based on an advisor’s practice size and/or themes
Working with Market Executives to support high impact local programming to support advisor performance, client acquisition and drive results
Proactive Outreach to portion of the field not engaged with PMG.
Support and partnership with the Performance Coaches within PMG in 1:1 coaching and peer group coaching facilitation
Ensuring responsible team formation and facilitating team building events for FAs.
Stand and Deliver presentations at conferences, onsites and internal meetings
Contributing to projects and programs, as well as execution plans related to PMG goals
Operating in a self-directed manner as a member of a nationally dispersed, virtually based team
Key Skills and Experience Required:
Five or more years of experience as a financial advisor, member of a team or internal support position within Merrill
Five or more years of experience as a management, business, or organizational consultant/coach preferred.
Strong communication (both written and verbal), executive presence and listening skills.
Great team player with a positive “can do” attitude.
Strategic and tactical capabilities
Versatile communication skills - experience presenting to large groups and facilitating small group discussions.
Adept at building relationships at all levels
Ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend appropriate solutions/interventions.
Results-driven and able to succeed in a challenging, fast paced, changing environment.
Strong understanding of FA practices and the wealth management business
Licensed preferred w/ SIE & Series 7. If not currently licensed, must obtain within a specified time limit.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
