Role Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated, industry established, senior professional who is looking to further expand an already successful career in the field of Investment Banking Operations/Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) Operations.

The department has a Global Markets Operation which comprises of, Clearing, Deliveries (Lifecycle events), Reconciliation, Regulatory / Exchange Process Control, Static Data and Strategy.

This function is replicated regionally in Singapore / India and Chicago with our Global Teams processing trading activity on 83 Exchanges, 35 Clearing Houses across 15 legal entities globally either directly or via Third Party Brokers.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing all lifecycle events for EMEA markets supporting a Global client base and encompassing Equity, Fixed Income and Commodity products for both cash settled and physically deliverable products.
  • Responsible for managing the integrity of BAU controls across EMEA Exchanges cleared & processed by the operation.
  • Liaison with impacted parties and stakeholders including, Front office trading business (Sales, Trading and Agency), Finance (Balance Sheet Substantiation), Client Money, Transaction Reporting, Onboarding / Client Service / Collateral and Exchanges and Industry Forums
  • Continuous Improvement / Vision Setting of the Operating Environment with regards to our core lifecycle management functions in region (Leadership Influence & Development of Simply, Improve and Modernize (SIM) initiatives, Ongoing product /service offerings, Location Strategy, and follow-the-sun programs).
  • Partners Closely with Technology, Operations Strategy & Front Office to drive change inclusive of technology enhancements and evolution of the follow the sun operating model.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in Financial operations with client experience
  • Global Markets Operations exposure / thorough knowledge of ETD / OTC Transaction Life Cycle
  • Broad influence across functions and organizational levels and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders (Traders, Credit, Risk, Audit, Middle Office, Finance, IT).
  • Proven track record of achieving results optimizing resources and driving efficiencies.
  • Hire, manage and develop staff to ensure excellent performance in current role, succession planning and role rotation.

Additional Skills:

  • Leadership background, well versed in team management and influence.
  • Understanding of large complex organizations and how to navigate to deliver.
  • Problem-solving skills, resilient in finding solutions.
  • Excellent communication, effective with subordinates, peers, and senior management
  • Experience using FIS / Sungard GMI system, Execution Platforms, Exchange Terminals beneficial.
