Job Description:

You will be managing a team of 20+ Specialist Product Sales (SPS) Associates based in EMEA covering all lines of business within the SPS team (Trade, Card, Core Cash and Merchant). This is a fast paced organisation focused on driving revenues and clients to the GPS product suite and working closely with the various stakeholders – RM’s, TSO’s and the respective Product organizations.  The head of EMEA SPS is responsible for coordinating and directing SPS management sales activities to include development of new business, expansion of existing business with a strong focus on responsible growth. You will have unlimited client contact in region with clients and those doing business in the region with headquarters based across the EMEA landscape.  Additionally, the EMEA SPS head must be well versed with our Treasury Product Solutions suite and specifically Trade, Card, Merchant and Core Cash to assist in the assessment of new solution sets in conjunction with the economic trends.  Role reports into the Global co-heads of SPS and will partner closely with the GPS Head of EMEA.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for hiring best in class talent and ensuring we have a motivated and driven sales team.

  • Responsible for development of sales strategy for SPS to maximize growth within risk parameters and optimize relationship profitability, expanded SPR and executing across the Product Sales Specialists for each discipline.

  • Responsibility to closely partner with Product, Region Heads, Markets, TSO’s, Investment Banking, Corporate Bankers and Risk globally.

  • Resource and performance management including hiring, setting team and individual goals, performance management, compensation input and other HR related matters.

  • Influences the team through effective leadership that includes presenting a strategy for the team, coaching, leading through example, role model for teamwork, communication, and collaboration.

  • Maintains a client focus, deep Product expertise, client subsector expertise, and a broad understanding of the bank's structure.

  • Represent the bank at internal and industry events on area of expertise and select industry gatherings around the globe.

The SPS head is accountable for revenue and pipeline growth, client selection, portfolio development, pricing, client planning.   To be successful, one must maintain a strong client focus, industry and product awareness and understanding of the bank and operational aspects of the products and services used by clients in addition to possessing good interpersonal, financial acumen, communication, and presentation skills.  

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrable years of experience in serving and selling sophisticated treasury solutions across various client segments.

  • Experience leading teams in the above capacity

  • Strong business, commercial and origination skills

  • Strong executive presence both internally/externally. In depth knowledge of Trade, Card, Core Cash and Merchant and the changing landscape of global payments

  • Excellent communication and writing skills
