Job Description:

Reporting to the Regional Head of GPS, LATAM, the Head of GPS Mexico helps define and execute Global Payments strategy within country, in coordination with Regional and LOB Executives. The Head of GPS Mexico will partner with Country Executives to identify GPS opportunities to maximize market share, deepen relationships with existing clients, routinely provide updates on the Global Payments business, assure that the intense regulatory changes are being followed as well as being connected with Market Associations and Regulators. Additionally, the Head of GPS Mexico will provide additional governance oversight across GPS product and sales locally and positively impact employee experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Partners with local LOB Heads, Country Executives, and GPS leadership to identify opportunities to maximize market share and/or do more with existing clients.

  • Protects the reputation of GPS across the regions through appropriate risk management and governance and control consistent with the Risk Framework.

  • Serve customers and clients by ensuring different local Product and Sales teams work together seamlessly

  • Partner closely with Corporate Bankers, Regional and Global GPS Colleagues and other business partners (as appropriate) to consult on sales opportunities and provide the product expertise and consultation necessary to deliver the best possible Treasury and Trade solutions to the client in-country or regionally.

  • Partner with GPS Sales Teams, Product Teams, Regional Heads, Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Bankers and Risk and Operations teams locally to structure and deliver client solutions.

  • Provides coaching, direction and day-to-day resource management for local GPS employees while partnering with Global Heads of GPS Sales, Product and others to provide input on hiring, goals, compensation and performance management

  • Represent the bank at internal and industry events on area of expertise and select industry gatherings around the globe.

Required Skills / Personal Attributes:

  • 15+ years of experience in serving and selling sophisticated treasury solutions to corporate clients with a track record in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships.

  • Excellent business, commercial and origination skills with a strategic mindset to create and advance global treasury solutions with clients.

  • Risk management mindset – ability to balance risk/reward, has deep understanding of regulatory environment locally

  • Ability to navigate rapidly changing competitive and technological landscape.

  • Executive presence both internally/externally. In-depth knowledge of the changing landscape of global payments

  • Culture carrier and compassionate team leader with high emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset that fosters collaboration and creativity among team members and wider local Product and Operational teams.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills
