Role Description:

The EMEA GPS Business Control role is responsible for driving and executing compliance with the regulatory and policy requirements within the GPS business in EMEA. Key responsibilities include providing support for audits, tracking open issues, managing ops losses reporting, risk assessments, SPI overview and analytical and administrative support for LOB or ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. The role provide oversight on key regional governance processes including running the Business Control Forum for GPS EMEA and assist business partners by facilitating meetings and information sharing between key stakeholders, product and GPS Risk partners and other control functions (GCOR, audit, etc).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Key partner to COO, Global Banking Risk, GFCC, Compliance, Ops Risk and other non-LOB partners on all GPS EMEA Business controls matters

  • Work in close coordination with regional and global product and sales teams to ensure identification, reporting, escalation and timely resolution of SIAIs, RIAIs, AIAIs, MRAs, watch items, and other audit items

  • Manage audit engagement by assisting business segments, process owners and auditors by facilitating meetings and information sharing between key stakeholders during audits

  • Lead and provide oversight on key regional governance processes including running the Business Control Forum for GPS EMEA

  • Support the overall management of and research required for managing operational loss events, and support governance activities for ops event reporting

  • Supports the monitoring and testing of controls including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and RIsk ID activities

  • Ensure accurate documentation of processes, controls, and metrics in the system of record including reporting and oversight reviews

  • Support Single Process Inventory (SPI) activities and work with process owners and control partners to resolve challenges and issues related to SPI. In addition, work with LOB to identify and address areas of opportunities

  • Support Global Payment Solutions adherence to enterprise-wide standards

  • Assist business segments and process owners by facilitating meetings and information sharing between key stakeholders, business control partners and other control functions (GCOR, audit, etc)

  • Active participation in the key governance forums including Business Control Forums, Regulatory Initiative forums, Product & Sales level governance forums, Legal Entity Governance Routines (e.g. BANA and Bank of America Europe DAC)

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with the business segments, and Control Partners, ensuring partnership on all deliverables

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience in controls function roles  including issue management, Op losses, Risk ID/Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Single Process Inventory (SPI), Quality Assurance or independent testing.

  • Strong ability to communicate (written and verbal) with internal and external partners

  • Proven analytical, logical reasoning and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task, set goals/prioritize and meet deliverables in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders; promoting change

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, process, project management and organizational skills 

  • Ability to navigate across global and cross-functional teams.

  • Able to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Ensure adherence to Bank of America Risk Framework, regulations, policies, standards and procedures

  • Ability to collaborate, manage, and expand relationships across the organization

  • Excellent presentation skills and keen attention to detail 

  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) proficient

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
