Responsibilities

  • Assemble historical financial models using macroeconomic fundamental data, government and central bank reports, as well as local press releases.

  • Conduct financial, statistical, and macroeconomic analysis on LatAm local markets and specific assets to support team’s investment thesis.

  • Research sector trends to support recommendations in LatAm local debt markets.

  • Prepare reports and primers on economies and markets.

  • Initiate and build relationships with clients to develop a network of contacts appropriate to the industry, country and asset market covered.

  • Collaborate cross product to broaden skill set and enhance analysis to support investment thesis.

  • Identify and assess macroeconomic trends in Latin America, including expectations of fiscal policy, monetary policy, inflation, and economic activity.

  • Develop fundamental macro-financial models using statistical analysis in Python, R, or Matlab to provide an assessment of the future evolution of macroeconomic and financial variables.

  • Communicate macroeconomic and financial developments, as well as their implications for asset prices to external and internal stakeholders.

  • Create and manage complex datasets of financial and macroeconomic variables using information from Bloomberg, official government data, and Haver.

  • Analyze and interpret the impact of market-moving news in Latin America.

  • Understand the macroeconomic, financial, and political structure of countries in Latin America.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or related; and

  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related finance occupation.

  • Must include 2 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Identifying and assessing macroeconomic trends in Latin America, including expectations of fiscal policy, monetary policy, inflation, and economic activity;

  • Developing fundamental macro-financial models using statistical analysis in Python, R, or Matlab to provide an assessment of the future evolution of macroeconomic and financial variables;

  • Communicating macroeconomic and financial developments, as well as their implications for asset prices to external and internal stakeholders;

  • Creating and managing complex datasets of financial and macroeconomic variables using information from Bloomberg, official government data, and Haver;

  • Analyzing and interpreting the impact of market-moving news in Latin America; and,

  • Understanding the macroeconomic, financial, and political structure of countries in Latin America.

  • 25% domestic and international travel required, as necessary.

New York pay range:

$200,000 - $225,000 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
