Location Overview:

Based in the 8th arrondissement and within the Parisian Golden Triangle, our beautiful Art-Deco era office benefits from luxury modern workspaces, an abundance of natural light and is easily accessible by public transport.

The Team:

This is an established team consisting of 9 associates in total, including the day to day manager. You will get exposure, over time, to a wide range of colleagues, of varying levels of seniority, in Global Markets and Global Banking and will be the primary point of contact in France for the R&L team. Ongoing training and development opportunities exists across the whole team

Role Description:

We are looking for a dedicated professional to join the Compliance and Operational Risk team in Paris, as part of the Registrations and Licensing department (R&L)

This role will principally be responsible for driving the requirements relating to the proper certification and licensing of individuals based in France. This includes notably the knowledge and competencies requirements, and Senior Manager application and Key Function Holder requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • You will contribute to the independent oversight of Front Line Unit (FLU) and Control Function (CF) performance in alignment with the Compliance Risk Management Program.
  • You will represent the team as it pertains to Paris registrations, facing off to senior leadership in Paris as well as developing relationships across all lines of business.
  • You will promote a culture of compliance and the identification, escalation and timely mitigation of compliance risks.  This will involve activities such as Monitoring and Risk Assessments.
  • You will define appropriate local standards and procedures for Fitness & Probity, manage escalations, maintain the internal register and required documentation, manage QA/QC processes and provide guidance and training on the French Regime, as required. 
  • In addition, you will contribute to the operation of other certification regimes in Europe, UK and Ireland, providing cover as required – as back up only.
  • You will drive the French regime registrations in the provision of High Risk processes of New Hire Registrations, Terminations and Maintenance.
  • Interpretation, understanding and implementation of processes as it pertains to the French Registration and Licensing regulatory requirements.
  • You will promote a culture of compliance and the identification, escalation and timely mitigation of compliance and operational risks.

What we are looking for:

  • Fluent French and English required
  • Demonstrable experience in a relevant industry expertise.
  • Excellent analytical skills - analyse documents for accuracy and risk; mitigate and/or call out where appropriate
  • Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential material
  • Ability to multitask; completing a high volume of transactions within specific deadlines
  • Independent - can accurately perform functions with little direction
  • Keen problem solver who can handle multiple projects
  • Greatwritten and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate and work with all levels within the organization and with external regulators (e.g. senior manager applications)
