Agile Coach

Job Description:

The Agile Coach will work with executive leaders that span the organization to the portfolio level providing guidance around facilitating and leading an Agile transformation as well as providing consultation around organizational Agile practices/processes.

The Agile Coach:

  • Is responsible for providing knowledge, architecture and expertise around enterprise Lean Agile processes while coaching leadership roles in the organization to successfully lead and manage concepts at the enterprise level.
  • Is responsible for providing knowledge, architecture and expertise around enterprise lean agile processes while coaching leadership roles in the organization to successfully lead and manage concepts at the enterprise level.
  • Is an Individual Contributor that coordinates and coaches executive leaders across an organization within the framework architecture of Agile methodology, specific to Scrum, Scrum Master skills, Lean and Kanban.
  • Leads a large initiatives or multiple initiatives that are significant in scope and impact. Identifies, assigns, tracks, escalates, and resolves issues.
  • Schedules and facilitates regular meetings to review progress and status, and ad hoc topical meetings; formulates agendas and documents minutes, action items.
  • Ability to provide project status on deliverables or escalate issues to sr. leaders and executives.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years of Agile Coaching experience.
  • Experience assisting in sustaining Agile Communities of Practices and participates in the Agile Center of Excellence.
  • Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results.
  • Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all the development of a Lean-Agile environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives.
  • Both strong leaders and advocates for the adoption of Agile, Agile Coaches must be assertive about adherence to Agile processes and enthusiastic about Agile practices and their benefits.
  • Coaches are both educators and coaches, and thus possess great interpersonal skills, teaching abilities, and a capacity to inspire and motivate.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong project financial management skills.
  • Guides projects through all phases, ensuring required standards and processes are followed, required documents are completed, and required tracking systems are kept updated.
  • Develops and manages to project plan.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) proficient.
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with Agile concepts.
  • Possessing prior experience coaching teams in Agile adoption or as a Scrum Master.
  • Have Agile/Scrum Coach certification.
  • Have Scrum Master certification.
  • Have SAFe Certification.

Desired Skills
  • Having programming experience is plus.
  • Experience coaching at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies.
  • In order to stay ahead, Agile Coaches must be self-taught, and they must constantly be updating their information, attending conferences, and continuously learning.

Jersey City pay and benefits information

Jersey City pay range:

$102,000 - $160,600 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
