The Bank of America Technology Legal team, which supports the bank’s Global Technology organization, is seeking a talented, versatile and dynamic technology attorney to provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of technology issues, with an emphasis on software asset management, technology transactions and information security.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance, directly and in coordination with other attorneys and legal professionals, to senior executives and their teams on a range of legal, policy, business and strategic issues related to all aspects of technology utilized in the provision of financial services.    

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of matters concerning established and emerging technologies, including software compliance, information security, and legal and regulatory changes.

• Advise on, negotiate and manage technology issues in contracts with vendors, clients and other third parties, including determining compliance with contractual obligations and helping develop strategies to resolve issues and disputes.

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctorate degree with active bar membership.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Experience with general commercial contracts, information security and data governance.
  • Working knowledge of legal issues regarding software licensing.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications and export-import laws.
  • Exposure to outsourcing transactions, including offshoring, ITO and BPO.
  • Experience in global financial services and with financial regulators is a plus.  
  • Ability to address issues across a diverse set of legal fields.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide succinct results-oriented legal advice.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and collaborative environment with many stakeholders.
  • Independent, self-starter capable of prioritizing conflicting demands and handling multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, including decisiveness on both legal and business issues.
