GWIM Sr. Operations Analyst

Enterprise Overview:

Provides technical and analytical support in a GWIM operations function for one or more product areas such as funds transfer, collateral mgt/margins, corporate actions, static data/data management, control, trader support, clearance/settlement, documentation/confirmations, customer service, new accounts, client valuations, document processing or statement/billing processing. Responsible for the analysis and resolution of moderately complex operations problems and initiatives requiring exception handling and working with multiple operational and/or product specialists to resolve. May participate in projects and/or introduction of new initiatives, systems, products/services and processes. As a technical expert, acts as a unit advisor providing technical support to less experienced associates. This role typically requires 3+ years experience in operations functions and a thorough working knowledge of the operational aspects of transactions and products.

LOB Description:

Cost Basis Processing Team maintains all tax lot records in the Global Tax Lot system to ensure accurate gain/loss reporting on our Consolidated 1099 Tax Statements.  The team performs daily reconciliation and exception processing updates to tax lots impacted by Corporate Actions, trading, ACAT Transfers, as well as other assets movements.  The Cost Basis Processing Problem Resolution Lead will be responsible for providing technical guidance to associates to resolve Cost Basis operational problems and sensitive transactions.  Additionally, they will serve as a liaison between internal units/departments to facilitate resolution of escalations.  The role must be able to work overtime to support supervision of the team throughout tax season, which is generally highest January - April. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


•    Ensure the correct interpretation and application of the Taxability information 
•    Oversight of team processing and exception reports
•    Interface with the Tax Lot projects and systems teams on initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert
•    Partner with Internal Tax Counsel on more complex escalations.
•    Support Branch Offices and External Partners to ensure resolution for escalated issues
•    Assist team members with processing questions, complex issues and issue remediation
•    Identify training needs and provide technical training where needed
•    Assist with identification of risk issues, developing sound controls and ensuring laws, rules and regulations are being followed
