Vice President, Network Project Manager, Chief Technology Organisation

Singapore, , Singapore

Job Description:

Your background

Coming from a technical background, you will be well-versed in running large infrastructure deployment projects – sometimes several at the same time. You have a drive for getting things done, some may say an impatience, and are known for leaving nothing to chance - spotting unknown dependencies and proactively circumventing issues before they arise.

You have a creative mindset and are not hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, being able to identify and prioritise business and operational needs. You are great at communicating and influencing, ensuring the most favourable outcome for your project deliverables.

It would be beneficial if you were familiar with Networks either as an ex-engineer or having worked on Network heavy projects previously. If not, it would be an area we would expect to get you familiar with very quickly.

And finally, you enjoy the challenging rigors of working in a highly regulated environment and helping out your peers - not being phased to take on additional responsibilities outside your immediate scope of work as required.

Your experience

  • 10 years work experience required (less if you are a superstar).
  • Extensive experience in Infrastructure Project Mgmt with a technical background.
  • Appreciation of network infrastructure and technologies.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into actionable plans.
  • Strong track record in delivering project outcomes on-time and on-budget.
  • Strong business partnership skills – Able to build broad-based business relationships across the organization and positively influence colleagues.
  • Identify, Escalate, Debate issues that come into the team not limited to resource constraints, risk items, schedule conflicts and competing priorities.
  • Familiar with product deployments within a global banking environment
  • Willing to work some irregular hours based on the location of clients
  • Comfortable working independently in a collaborative organizational structure with the freedom to speak your mind
  • Unhappy with laborious manual processes and procedures, always looking for opportunities to drive efficiencies

What you can expect

You will be part of a large team of project managers located across the Asia Pacific region. This team is the “Front Door” to Network Services and is responsible for all technology and line-of-business project requests to the team. This includes the initial scoping of requirements, reviewing engineering resource allocations, budget compilations and acting as the interface between our engineers and business requestors for the duration of the project engagement. You will likely be working on multiple projects and be expected to juggle competing priorities, being empowered to make decisions to drive the project forward. This is a very busy role but working with some great minds and the latest technology, it is also one of our most satisfying.

What you will do

  • Work closely with other technology and line-of-business teams to document requirements and deliver project objectives providing regular updates and course corrections as required.
  • Plan and manage assigned project scope not limited to project schedule, milestones, dependencies, risks and budget.
  • Develop and deliver regular status reports and presentations as they are related to your assigned projects.
  • Coordinate Network Services Engineering team members and third-party consultants in the completion of project deliverables
  • Manage the purchase order process, working with engineers to deliver the bill-of-materials, shepherding through internal approval routines and processing for execution with our vendors.
  • Lead and manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) effort including applying robust quality planning, risk management and stakeholder management with the goal of zero to minimal impact to the business.
