Software Engineer III, Enterprise Credit Risk Technology

Job Description:

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Job Summary:

About the Organization Enterprise Credit Risk (ECR) technology organization supports ECR business organization and ECR business is responsible for managing credit risk originating across all of Bank's LOB's, i.e. retail, wholesale, banking, GWIM, Markets.

The ECR Technology organization manages several applications in support of various ECR business processes such as:

  • Credit Risk Platform
  • Multiple risk domains like Wholesale, Retail, Accounting View
  • Allowance Reporting o Regulatory reporting tenants like Secured Financing Transactions (SFT), Single Counterparty Credit Limit (SCCL) etc.
  • Risk Framework
  • Default Valuation
  • Valuation Services
  • Risk Ratings across Counterparties, Facilities, Countries & Industries In support of these business processes and functions we operate 18 applications across 600 servers
  • We provide 25,000 monthly reports and self-serve reporting with 56 upstream authorized data sources and 66 downstream applications
  • In ECR technology, to effectively operate we seek strong technical talent who are focused on supporting our clients

  • Develop Python, Java Spark data processing framework
  • Develop unit / integration / regression / performance test scripts/ test suites for the framework
  • Follow Agile development process - work refinement, estimation, retrospectives, etc. rituals
  • Interface with users and other team members, understand requirements and engineer and analyze solution options
  • Communicate solution effectively to team / teams and guide them through the development
  • Engage Platform support team, Architecture team as needed during development and support
  • Participate in POCs -evaluate tools and technologies as needed

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of Information technology experience in Application and/or Datawarehouse development
  • 5+ years of Java or 3+ years of Scala or 3+ years of PySpark programming experience
  • 3+ years of Spark programming experience
  • 3+ years of Hadoop / Hive experience
  • 3+ years of CI/CD toolset (Git, Bitbucket/GitHub, Jenkins, etc.) experience
  • RDBMS Experience / advanced SQL programming
  • Data warehousing knowledge/ experience
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced programming/ framework development experience
  • OpenShift / Kubernetes / Containers/ MicroServices
  • BS or MS in Information technology / Computer Science / related fields
