Sr. Architect - Cloud Software Developer - Core Technology Infrastructure

Position Summary:

This role will collaborate cross functionally to develop our target state cloud architecture and supporting organization model; along with the platform roadmap required to achieve that target state and define a multiyear platform strategy adjusting to new technologies and requirements as they evolve.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive cloud/ technology discussions and facilitate decision with other teams within the organization.

  • Executes POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies leveraging results to guide business and technology decisions.

  • Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.

  • Drive technical designs to consensus and approval.

  • Work with product owners and other functional teams to translate the roadmap into releases. Keep abreast of and gain expertise in the evolving technology and understand how new technologies could be applied to our Cloud offering.

  • Stay current with IAAS & PAAS trends and incorporate emerging technology to benefit the platform.

  • Research, test and understand the value of a containerized cloud offerings.

Required Skills:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience working with Agile development practices and test-driven development

  • Experience building microservices (using e.g. Swagger, Spring Boot) and using ReST APIs

  • Working knowledge of Hashicorp Products such as Consul/Nomad/Terraform/Vault

  • Experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring

  • Deep knowledge of web protocols, multiple operating systems, hypervisors and distributed systems architecture

  • Experience working with AWS, Azure and/or Google APIs and environments

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD toolchains such as Maven/Jenkins

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, CloudFormation, Salt

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Very strong analytical skills

  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies particularly VMware vSphere and vRealize Automation

  • Experience in Linux\UNIX system administration

  • Experience with Container technologies ( Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)

  • Experience with Go, NodeJS, Angular ,Javascript, HashiCorp, Terraform

  • Cloud provider certification (e.g. AWS Certified Developer)

  • Experience with Python (and frameworks, e.g. Django)
