Software Engineer I - Hadoop (Charlotte)

Job Description:

A great opportunity to work with the GT&O Technology ADS. Tech ADS is a modern data architecture platform transforming how GT&O manages its data. The goal of Tech ADS is to provide an integrated, controlled, ADS to house the data that is used to run and manage GT&O. The selected candidate will be an individual contributor responsible for development of the Technology ADS Data Warehouse. Candidate will be a member of a team of developers and data analysts who support development of the Tech ADS. Candidate will be responsible for a wide range of programming tasks and technologies including Hadoop, Exadata, Python, Kafka, etc. Candidate will be involved in design, code, test and level 2/3 support of the data warehouse. In addition to development, the candidate will be responsible for partnering with the business to ensure requirements are met and with other functional areas of technology (QA, Production Support) to ensure effective implementation. Team uses an Agile development process.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering (will consider Dec 2021 graduation date)

  • 1+ years of development experience

  • Experience or training with high level programming languages (Python, Java, etc)

  • Introductory knowledge of concepts with big data systems and relational database systems

  • Strong analytical ability, independent problem solving, and good communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and concepts

TO BE USED ONLY IN ORGANIZATIONS DELIVERING SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS: Responsible for developing and delivering software to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional and non-functional requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and is aware of the development practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Understands and utilizes basic architecture components in solution development. Codes solution and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria. Executes automated test suites (integration, regression, performance); collects results and flags issues. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Adheres to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release. Individual contributor.
