Testing Specialist II

Job Description:

The Testing Specialist II may direct entry-level testers, test leaders or directly manage a specialty function. This role is accountable for accurate and timely test execution and/or supports operational and administrative initiative of Foreign Exchange activities related to a Testing Functional area including multiple stakeholders. This role interacts extensively with internal or external contacts to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex problems.

Daily responsibilities of the Testing Specialist II include execution of test scripts, identifying and documenting defects and providing daily updates to test leads and managers as needed. This role works closely with Risk, Compliance, and SMEs to conduct Foreign Exchange testing.

The Testing Specialist II has intermediate knowledge of Foreign Exchange  test execution and system(s) of record required, and translates business strategy into work programs and processes. This role may contribute and/or participate in multiple special projects.

EIT is a centralized group within Global Risk Management responsible for independent testing of operational processes within the eight lines of business and enterprise control functions at Bank of America to ensure the company is in compliance with domestic and international laws, rules and regulations, and that risk and controls procedures are operating effectively.

The Testing Specialist II conducts independent transactional and process testing on a team in support of identified needs. This role may act as a test lead/SME, developing entry level testers by providing coaching and guidance. Testing completed by this role may include activities such as automated surveillance, transactional and qualitative level testing and may be performed onsite.

The Testing Specialist II is accountable for quality testing execution, reporting and analysis of results. This role may participate in test script development and test design. The Testing Specialist II collaborates with Compliance and Operational Risk on the identification of themes and trends at the front line unit, control function and enterprise level.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 + years work experience. Level based on execution team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Include systems knowledge, certifications, etc.
  • Ability to test across multiple lines of business
  • Extensive functional or professional Foreign Exchange knowledge
  • Microsoft Suite of products
  • Adaptability to dynamic work environment with multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Experience in drafting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal, written and interpretational communication skills to all levels of the organization.


Desired Experience

  • Familiar with trade surveillance related Foreign Exchange external laws, rules, regulation, standards and procedures (such as Market Conduct Risk Framework) and industry guidance
