Mainframe Systems Engineer - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:

Responsible for supporting the existing Toolset developed by outgoing resource.
Responsible development of new Automation as requested by our customers.
Responsible for maintenance and modification of existing automation as customer requirements change and underlying technology changes.
 Communicate effectively with both leadership, peers, and application teams.
 Provide knowledge sharing to Automation Team where prior experience can be shown to be beneficial.
 Adhere to standards, conventions, and procedures for technical and change implementation.
 Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, potential risks and increased

Required Skills

Application Development and Support Experience.
 Strong triage and issue resolution skills.
        z/OS, JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, VSAM
 Good Communication skills
 Work well with team members
        Work well individually and know how to trace dialog failures
 Ability to work in cross functional with multi-location teams.
 Experience/Ability with working in highly integrated, fast paced environment.
 Ability to learn and adapt quickly with application and technology changes.
 7-10 year’s experience with the following technical skills.
o JCL/PROCs
o IBM Dialog Manager (REXX, Panels, Skeleton, Tables)
o CA7 helpful
o TSO/ISPF, SDSF, SAR, SyncSort
o Endevor
o IBM File Manager.
o NDM and FTP
o IMS and DB2 helpful
 

Desired Skills

Financial Industry Experience helpful.
 Good understanding of SDLC concepts.
 Experience with automation scripts like REXX, CLIST, IBM's Dialog Manager

Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering
