Wholesale Credit (WC) is responsible for underwriting credit products for large corporate clients in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank (GCIB). WC partners with teams across GBAM including Corporate and Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Global Treasury Management to drive revenue growth while maintaining appropriate risk disciplines specific to GCIB’s corporate credit portfolio. Integral to WC’s mission is to effectively manage and monitor the credit and market risks inherent in the Large Corporate portfolio.
Fundamental Credit Analysis of Corporate clients (including assessment of key credit risks, Industry structure, business profile, financial/economic standing and projections)
Perform comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research
Participate in due diligence sessions and client-facing meetings
Engage in credit documentation negotiations for loans , trade finance and derivatives agreements.
Be accountable for active client monitoring with a regular review and update of the analysis of counterparties and existing risk ratings as well as industry trends and news flow
Manage low maintenance accounts and simple transactions
Engage in other credit related activities including presentations to senior management and local regulatory attributions
Core skills and requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Engineering
6-10 years of experience (internship or full time) in Credit areas of Financial Institutions, Equity Research or related areas
Experience in credit analysis of Banks and Non-Banks Financial Institutions will be considered a plus
Fluent in English and Portuguese
Strong analytical and technical skills, including financial accounting and projection of main financial statements
Ability to understand and represent more complex oriented transactions/deals in oral & written form
Solid MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Team player, excellent communication skills, proactive and hands-on approach
