Job Description:

The Global Equities Executions Services Product team is looking to add new offerings and enhancements to its existing product suite.  The team is looking for the right team player to help deliver. 

This technical and quantitative person will be a part of the Product Development Team within Global Equities.   The candidate will work alongside other product developers, IT, and quants, in the Quantitative Strategies Group (QSG), to develop efficient hedging and basket management tools to help scale the Global Index Rebalance business and its ability to manage significant trading events. In addition, the individual will focus on integration of critical risk analytics calculations and models with the front-end trading application to enhance risk management, general trading workflow management, and alpha generating strategies.  Success in the area can lead to further opportunities to enhance cash trading.

This person must have experience with delivery in writing trading processes that have a properly planned support model.  It is critical for the candidate to have good communication skills to not only work with the aforementioned groups, but also to help positively influence those groups towards developing the product. Being a team player to help the franchise and aid in improving the process of product development is a must.

In this role the candidate will need strong inter-personal skills with an ability to closely collaborate with both the core Technology teams and QSG to deliver the desired product to market.


  • Define, manage and develop a core program of work for the Global Index Rebalance business
  • Technical and quantitative analysis
  • Integration of critical risk analytics calculations and models with the front-end trading application
  • Quickly become deeply familiar with Portfolio Risk Trading flows and analytics requirements, e.g. Transaction Cost, Factor Risk and Index predictions.


  • Gathering and documentation of business requirements
  • Design, development and testing of new products
  • Code reviews in partnership with Technology
  • Ensuring the ongoing integrity of the trading platform as follows:
  • Robust governance and management of core platform investments and priorities
  • Working and collaborating with IT and Support partners
  • Influencing and shaping future investment and design decisions in conjunction with Equities management, business and tech leads

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong core Java knowledge
  • Knowledge of multi-core / multi-threading concepts
  • Prior experience with the management of event based, real time transactions
  • Experience with applying user interfaces to enhance the physical user interaction with a workflow process
  • Scripting languages such as Python to help automate processes
  • Excellent communication skills to work with sales, trading, product, technology, and support partners globally
  • Strong team player and ability to collaborate with others
  • Excellent problem solver with an ability to work independently and comfortable working in a fluid environment with shifting priorities
  • As part of a major organization, the highly motivated person has the ability to work within the bounds put forth by the firm’s, and our IT and Quant partner’s, policies and procedures

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience of equities and portfolio trade lifecycle and execution workflows
  • Experience of risk trading analytics and models
  • Working knowledge of analytical languages such as Q or R is a plus. 
  • In depth knowledge of market microstructure is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of equity and derivatives trading workflows
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered
