The Role
The position available is an Analyst within the Australian Equity Research team, based in Sydney. The focus of this role is to assist senior analysts to research companies and sector trends in the utilities sector
Responsibilities
Maintain detailed knowledge of key companies in the Utilities sectors, including key drivers of the companies, and understanding key catalysts
You will be primarily be involved with: compiling, maintaining and analysing market/financial data; performing analysis and maintain earnings models on relevant companies; ad hoc client requests
Build, maintain, and update company forecasts and valuation models
Preparation of research reports, slide presentations and other research-related documents on a local and regional level, incorporating ideas of how industry trends are impacting the Real Assets companies
Develop relationships with management and investor relation representatives from companies under coverage
Preferred Background
Excellent academic record with an Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field
1-2 years of work experience – preferably in a valuation/finance/equities related role
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player to meet tight deadlines to consistently high standards, with a high level of initiative, motivation and curiosity
Competence manipulating data in Excel, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills; written, oral, and numeric
