The Client Associate (CA) role is a sales support position, typically providing dedicated operational and sales support to multiple Financial Advisors (FA's). Incumbents may also on a regular basis support office initiatives, in addition to the businesses of particular FA's. For established clients, the CA will often serve as the most frequent point of contact with Merrill Lynch. Seasonal support for peak periods, which typically last 3-6 months.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Trade executions: The trading associate will manage day-to-day trades and transactions across all asset classes for the team.
Market monitoring: The trading associate keeps an eye on the market as a whole, in order to keep the rest of the team and clients informed should something in the market suddenly shift. This includes coordinating transactions with portfolio managers and investment teams with regards to their trade ideas, information flow and data requests.
Clerical services: The trading associate supports the team with clerical duties that include filing records or documents into systems, preparing documents for contracts, legal records, investments and preparing research or technical reports.
Compute holdings: The trading associate will maintain intra-day accounts of interest, dividends, brokerage fees, transfer taxes or commissions and trades. This includes summarizing the daily transactions and earnings into reports for each client.
Coordinating between teams: The trading associate will managing coordination between all teams required for transactions including account opening, credit / margin, settlement & other back office support.
