Job Description:

Portfolio Management Officer (“PMO II”) will primarily be responsible for underwriting existing deals, modifications to underwritten deals and monitoring credit exposure for existing Bank of America Business Capital (“BABC”) ABL clients.  BABC is part of the Wholesale Credit division within Bank of America, N.A and provides leveraged loans in a variety of industries including manufacturers, distributors and service companies.  The asset-based loan credit facilities range from $5 million to over $2 billion in size and are typically collateralized with a first lien on all assets. The PMO II will work closely with, and assist the Asset Based Portfolio Specialist(s)/loan officer(s) (“ABPS”) to serve the credit needs of clients which include requests for loan modifications, acquisitions and/or distributions that require analyzing financial performance, negotiating legal documents / terms, drafting proposals, reviewing documents and preparing recommendations for approval. The PMO II will participate in the internal deal screen and credit approval process led by the ABPS/Asset Based Portfolio Manager (“ABPM”) and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the ABPS/ABPM and other PMOs on term sheets and loan documentation. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to directly interface with clients, financial sponsors and financial intermediaries (including outside legal counsel, appraisers, collateral field examiners, etc.). The PMO II will have responsibility for day-to-day detailed monitoring and maintenance activities on an assigned client base including the preparation of Risk Rating Scorecards, quarterly portfolio review data and pricing models. PMOs monitor client operating performance and financial trends to proactively identify macro and microeconomic issues and opportunities within each industry. They deliver well-thought out analysis to facilitate decision making, while also ensuring adherence to BofA’s internal credit policies, guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong credit, financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work in a high volume role
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Commercial Banking Underwriter in either Middle Market or Asset Based Lending
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, with emphasis in Accounting, Finance preferred.
